Kehlani's pov

Morning as always. Same routine, turning on my shower to the hottest setting, getting dressed, staring at myself in the mirror, and then leaving to the studio.

   Life has been that way for YEARS. I wish i had some sort of change. Something or someone that shakes up my daily routine.

I gather my thoughts as i make my way to the studio. Im supposed to be meeting Victoria here but shes always a few minutes late. I cant complain though shes doing this out of the kindness of her heart. Even though she doesn't have a choice, given that shes my best friend.

I finally make it to the studio, setting up my equipment and settling down until Victoria comes. 10 minutes later Victoria show's up wearing a brown sweatsuit, holding 2 cups of coffee. We get to work after a few minutes.
30 minutes later

"You ready to play that back k?" Says a soft voice coming from the other side of the glass.  "Yea vic we good to run it again" i say to Victoria, who's helping me create my next project, "CRASH."

After layering vocals and tweaking small details on the first song of the album, a girl walks in. "Hey Victoria i have this cool idea for my first-" the mystery girl quickly stops. "Oh im so sorry, i didn't know you were in the middle of a session" She apologized quickly, but Victoria quickly interjects. "Lyn you're cool don't worry about it. I don't think you've met Kehlani yet. Kehlani, this is Jocelyn. Jocelyn, Kehlani." Victoria says as she introduces the two to each other.

"Nice to meet you Jocelyn!" Kehlani says, offering a gentle smile. "Yea..you too" she shy's. Its cute. "So lyn, what did you wanna show me?" Victoria says. "Oh i'd hate to interrupt yall so it can wait.." "well why dont you stay and listen for the rest of the session?" I suggest. I could've sworn i seen this girl blush y'all.
"I don't want to intrude-" "no i insist" i quickly interrupt Jocelyn."K actually i think this should be a pri-" "Vic, shut up." "But K-"
"Victoria shut up." I say, cutting my eyes at her. "Jocelyn, please stay."

As i continue working on the album, i notice Victoria has been pretty much silent. I hope i wasn't too harsh but i really wanted Jocelyn to stay, and this is MY album. Maybe it's crazy but she knows my heart is in the right place..i hope. i just need Vic to thug it out.

"Jocelyn do you sing?" I ask the girl who's been quietly listening to the creative process. "Oh um, yea i do..im actually working on my debut EP right now." She shares excitedly. The way she lights up about her work is so adorable.. "You wanna do some background vocals for this song??" Her eyes widen, and Victoria looks at me like i have two heads. "I don't know Kehlani, i would wanna mess up anything you got going on.." "yea K i dont think thats a good idea." Victoria says. "And why not?" I ask. Why does it seem like Vic is trying to keep this girl from me? Am i crazy?? Millions of questions run through my mind. "K i just- shes just new to the music industry and i wouldn't want her getting in too deep just yet." Victoria deflects. "Are you her manager or something?" I say, laughing because why is she being so protective of Jocelyn?
"K, just drop it. Maybe on the next project"

She's really starting to piss me off. I need to figure out what her deal is.

"Jocelyn what you got going on after this?" Victoria asks her. For what tho? What could vic possibly want with this girl.. "oh um..i was gonna go home and chill, why??" "Well i got this small get together that me and k are going to and i just wanted to see if you wanted to tag along. You down?" My eyes widen slightly, oh shes a smart bitch. "Yea im down that sounds fun" she smiles at the both of us, god her smile. Is this what love at first sight is? "Ight well it's at 7pm so I'll pick you up at 6:30. Sounds good?" "Yup, see y'all later!" Jocelyn gives vic a small side hug and then comes over and hugs me, god she smells so good. I don't wanna let go yet. After a beat of silence we finally part, she gives me one more smile and leaves.
