Ale slumps on the couch in the living room, surrounded by snacks and her favorite show playing in the background. She’s lost in thought when her mother enters.

MOTHER: Ale, where’s your dad’s suit?

ALE (distracted): What suit? How would I know where that is, Mom?

MOTHER: The one I asked you to pick up from the dry cleaners this morning!

Ale’s confusion deepens

ALE (sitting up): Wait... you asked me to do that?

Her mother crosses her arms, a hint of frustration in her voice.

MOTHER: Have you been going around erasing people’s memories again? I told you to stop that! If you keep using your powers like this, you’ll lose all your own memories.

ALE (frustrated, brushing it off): "I know, Mom. I only erased a small memory. So, I'll only lose one of my small memories."

ALE'S MOM (shaking her head): "It doesn’t matter if it’s small or big. You never know what you’ll lose. It could be a bad memory, sure—but it could be a good memory or an important memory. And once it's gone, it’s gone."

ALE (quiet, glancing away): "I don’t even notice half the time."

ALE'S MOM (firmly, but  worriedly): "That’s the problem."
