Kola and Dayo, notorious hunters in Salako village, exploited their skills for personal gain. They manipulated smaller hunters, skipped meetings, and intimidated others. Their greed knew no bounds.
A woman approached them with a lucrative offer: five antelopes for her daughter's wedding ceremony. She paid for two upfront, promising the remainder upon delivery. Kola and Dayo delivered the antelopes but, when the woman couldn't pay, they demanded sex in exchange. She reluctantly agreed.
Emboldened, they continued exploiting women, trading animals for favors. Rumors spread, but they dismissed it as defamation.
One day, a mysterious woman sought their help, needing lion hair to heal her ailing son. She offered minimal payment, which they refused. They coerced her into sleeping with them, enslaving her.
Unbeknownst to Kola and Dayo, she was a witch sent by fellow hunters to uncover the truth. As they ventured into the forest, she cursed them:
"May your partnership turn to discord, and your own hands bring about your downfall."
Deeper in the forest, tensions rose between Kola and Dayo. Misunderstandings escalated into violent fights. In the heat of battle, they fatally struck each other.
The witch reappeared, revealing her true identity:
"Your downfall was sealed the moment you exploited innocence."
The village, now aware of their nefarious deeds, shunned Kola and Dayo's legacy. Their fate served as a cautionary tale against greed and exploitation.
