"You knew her, right?" I sat on a table chair, sipping a cup of coffee. The aroma drifted around us in a haze as I watched the elderly woman in front of me. Her name was Helen Stewart, a former teacher of my missing person.

She spoke clearly, "Yes, I do. Evelyn was always a very bright girl, but nearing the end of her senior year, something felt off about her."

"Would you be able to elaborate?" I probed.

"She was getting caught up with the wrong crowd, staying out late, partying, and her foster parents often shared their worries with me. Then, one day, she just disappeared. I believe the local police just shrugged it off as another runaway teen. Not surprising, with her past. Tell me, Mrs. Grace, why have you decided to bring her case up again? It's been two years since she disappeared."

"Just a gut feeling that she might be connected with another investigation going about. Thank you for your time, Ms. Stewart. I have to follow up on another lead." I placed her mug on a small rounded coaster, branches and birds drawn in the wood. This house reminded me of my grandmother's; her death had hit me hard. As I closed the door behind me, I let out a deep sigh, knowing just who I had to go visit next.

I'm sorry, guys, for making this. I've been such a busy, but I'll write a new chapter soon and new updates every Friday. Thank you for reading my story; I'm so grateful for you all!!
