Following the clues from the letter, the three of us set off to figure out where it led. As we walked, I couldn't help but notice the tension between Ethan and Liam. Their rivalry was always there, simmering under the surface, and it made me wonder if I'd ever truly understand the full extent of their complicated relationship.

We ended up in one of the older parts of the school, a wing that barely anyone ever used anymore. Liam led us to a room tucked away in the corner, the air thick with dust. He seemed so sure of himself, moving through the room like he knew exactly where we needed to be. But before I could even say anything, Ethan interrupted.

"I think I know where this is really leading," Ethan said, his voice low, as if he was holding back something important. "Follow me."

Liam raised an eyebrow but didn't argue, which was rare. Ethan led us down a narrow corridor to a door hidden behind a heavy tapestry. The door had an intricate lock, and at the center of it, I saw the same symbol from the letter-and from my family ring.

My breath caught in my throat. I reached up, fingers closing around the pendant that hung around my neck-the family ring that had always been passed down. I had always thought it was just a symbol of tradition, but now it felt like it was part of something much bigger. Slowly, I pulled the ring off the chain and fit it into the lock. With a soft click, the door opened, revealing a dark tunnel leading into the unknown.

I glanced at Ethan, then at Liam. "I guess we're not done with this mystery just yet."
