The Dance Class

Frank thought tonight would be a good night to just curl up and watch a movie. Hazel, his girlfriend, had other plans.

"Frank, can you come to a movie with me?" she asked as she sat down next to him and leaned her head on his shoulder. Frank's heart melted, and he was pretty sure he blushed. Honestly, he didn't really want to go out tonight, but how could he say no to her?

"I-uh, sure." He said, quite smoothly, his ears turning a slight shade of pink. Hazel smiled up at him and kissed his cheek, her whole face lighting up.

"Thanks! Percy is driving. Get dressed in something comfy. Meet me at the gates around six thirty." and with that, Hazel left.

~~~~~~~{This is a time skip to then.}~~~~~~~
Hazel arived early, in a yellow dress that went slightly past her knees and had a white collar that hugged her neck. She wore black shoes. Silently praying to Pluto her get-up wouldn't seem to suspicious, she folded her hands and waited for Frank.
Finally, around ten minutes later, Frank came jogging up the hill. His face was a slight shade of pink.
"Sorry if I'm late." he said as he reached her, tugging at his sleeves. Hazel smiled at him.
"Percy is, too. Don't worry." she studied his outfit- black slacks and an untucked white shirt. She sighed a bit. "Tuck in your shirt, though." Frank's face turned a brilliant shade of magenta as he hurroed to tuck his shirt into his pants. Hazel couldn't help but give out a small giggle at Frank's awkwardness. He was just too adorable.
"How long do you suppose we will be waiting?" Frank asked. Hazel blinked at him.
"For?" she made a small, circular motion with her hand to hint at him to elaborate. Frank's blush spread to his ears.
"For Percy." The Chinese-Canadian baby man clarified. Hazel shrugged a bit, crossing her arms and biting her lip slightly. This was an actual, legitamate question.
"Well, considering the fact Percy is Percy, we could be waiting for hours. Or, he could just completely forget about us and we could be waiting for days, weeks, months, or even years!" Hazel concluded matter of factly, giving Frank an amused look. Frank gave a small chuckle.
"I think we have enough sense to go back to our routines before it reached any great lengths." he commented. Hazel shrugged again, a smile on her lips. Frank hugged himself and gave a small, nervous smile. Even though they had been dating for a while, he still wasn't used to it. He just felt so awkward, yet comfortable, at the same time. It was weird. Then again, 'weird' pretty much summed his life up in a word. His life depended on a stick. He was the son of Mars, the god of war. He saved Thanatos from chains, with his stick. And if that wasn't weird enough for anyone, his girlfriend was from the 1930s, the daughter of Pluto, and was cursed to have gemstones come up at her feet.
At last, after many awkward chats and a lot of blushing, Percy pulled up on the other side of the river and honked. Hazel and Frank made their way across the river, Frank having to roll his pants up and Hazel holding her dress. That didn't save them from getting somewhat wet though, obviously. The spray still got them, and by the time they got to the car, they were kind of soaked.
"Have you two been waiting long?" Percy asked, turning down the stereo that used to be blaring Adele's Someone Like You. He still was having a mini jam fest in his seat when the two slipped into the car. Hazel took the back while Frank sat next to Percy in the front.
"About an hour." Hazel replied. Frank was fumbling with his seatbelt, geting flustered with it. Percy kind of casually helped him buckle up.
"Oh, that isn't too bad." he said, then started to drive. He turned the radio back up, and started to jam out to the song that was on. Hazel had a staring competition with the ground to avoid getting too carsick. Frank was trying not to gag.
One wild car ride later, Percy pulled into a parking lot for a medium sized plaza. He started to chuckle a bit, glancing back at Hazel. They shared amused glances. Then, pulling on hid best poker face as if Frank had only just arived, he said, "Have fun at your 'movie,' Zhang." As soon as the two were walking towards the building, Percy couldn't help but have himself a laugh. He should try this with Annabeth sometime.
A dance class. This place was a dance class, not a movie. Frank stood at the entrance, bewildered. He looked to Hazel with a pouty expression. "You lied to me?" He said, as if it were a question. Hazel gave him a small side hug.
"I knew you probably wouldn't come otherwise." She replied kind of pathetically. Frank stared at her with puppy eyes. Hazel gave him a mock pouting expression back. "Sowwy. But the class is starting. Please?" She got rid of the pout and replaced it with a hopeful smile. Frank sighed. He couldn't say no to her, even if he wad upset.
"You're lucky I love you, and that you are one of the cutest things in the world." Frank said, though he mussed up her curly hair and walked inside the room, leaving her to fix her hair.
When Hazel caught up to Frank, her hair finally staying where it was supposed to be, she made a funny face at him and poked him on the cheek. Then she leaned against the wall and waited for the class to begin.
It was another hour's wait before everyone arrived and got settled. The coaches were a brunette woman who looked to be around her twenties and a blonde male who looked creepily like that one blonde archer at Camp Half-Blood, whos name Frank could never remember. They demonstrated a ballroom dance, and had the rest of the couples copy them. Frank was mainly focussed on not stepping on Hazel's feet, not wanting to hurt her. Hazel seemed pretty content, too, though on what, Frank wasn't sure.
"One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight." The blonde instructer called out repeatively, emphisizing the odd numbers. Hazel guided Frank along, a blank expression on her face as she stared at Frank's shoulder and focussed on the guy's counting. Why did that voice seem so familiar?
The night went by quicker than Frank expected, and Hazel and him rocked several dances. Not to mention, afterwards there was free food. No one could pass that offer up, and Frank wasn't complaining. Hazel and him talked while eating a few cookies and drinking lemonade. Overall, Frank couldn't stay mad at Hazel. He had fun, even if he wouldn't admit it, and secretly hoped she would drag him back the next week.
