Her eyes felt heavy, in a stiff bed. She closed her eyes, letting sleep swallow her cold soul. The firmness underneath her felt different, opening her eyes. She was on a fallen tombstone, she launched herself off. Feeling her skin clash on the dirt, she stumbled as she lifted her body off the ground.
Confusion set in, her gaze falling towards her surroundings. Tombstones were everywhere. In the distance there was a thick fog, she looked up towards the sky. The faces shaped into the dark clouds, the faces cried. They looked pitiful.
She clenches her hands, tears streaming down her face. She wiped them away, her eyes starting to become firm.
She sighs and starts walking forward, her feet freezing bare. On the ground, she could feel the bugs crawling. She pushed away her fear and continued, a newfound determination setting itself inside her.
After walking for what felt like hours, her feet felt like giving up. She swore she's been here before, her eyes drift towards the fallen tomb. She had walked the opposite direction, yet here she was. Right next to it.
She grew tired of this, turning around. Her blood froze, a haunting face was behind her. Eyes as white as snow, hair like ash, its skin like light oak.
But his face was out of place, tears as black as ink fell down his face. His smile was non-existent, his face was peculiar... It was filled with fear, my face felt the same. We both started to run, I ran in the opposite direction.
My body was filled with a newfound energy, I grew tired. I stopped and heard a thump. I looked ahead of me and saw a pit, curiously I walked towards it. The figure laying down on the ground, my body makes its own choice.
Jumping down, it looks at me. Scared, I fell down next to it. It turned its head, nervously I decided to talk to it, words unfamiliar to me came out "Gabriel? Right?" I was unsure how I knew that, it was like a voice gave me those words. "Would you like to be friends?" Its eyes showed a storm of snow and ice. "Sorry... how about we get to know each other first" I ask, it nods its head. Fear leaves my face.
"See you next time?" I take out my pinky, we tie them together. I blinked and suddenly I saw the familiar presence of my room. My body burned, like I was set ablaze. I tried to breathe, it was jagged.
After a moment, my body's warmth greeted me once again. The pain of burning went away. I look beside me, grabbing my phone. Checking the time '6:30' I get up and try to walk towards the shower. I make it halfway before my legs give out, I feel like I just ran a marathon.
I push myself up, making my way towards the cold room. The sound of running water reached my ears, the blood on my feet washed away.
The steamy shower becomes as cold as ice as soon as the door is opened, only the warmth from my body remains. The clothes on my body were cool, heat passing through the cloth. The pain eases away, the burning sensation slowly fades away once again.
Going back to her bedroom, she makes sure she has everything needed for her first day. Taking herself out of her room felt like trying to get out of water after exercising past her limit. The hallways seemed as tall as skyscrapers, everything felt so much larger today.
The stairs were like steep steps, each one felt farther and farther than the last. It felt like time moves slower, the steps seemed longer than they should. When she finally hears the last thump, her eyes refocus. The house is still large, but more bearable.
The hallway towards the door seems longer than it used to be the day before, my steps ricochet throughout my body. The pain is getting more numb. Making her way to the kitchen she makes herself pancakes, the warmth of butter and syrup melting in my mouth.
