Sitting on her stool, Brooklyn sat there staring at the painting in front of her with her chin resting in her hands. Her eyes stayed stuck on the portrait not understanding the problem she had with it.

Letting out a deep sigh she slapped her hands on her bare thigh before using them to stand her body up.  The sound of her heels clicked against the light grey marble floors echoed around her as she slowly made her way towards the large arched window that showed the beautiful scenery of a garden.

It's been three years since she's first seen Gio and her last. Her father made sure she was denied entry into the prison and her even calls and letters were denied. It was hard for them to keep in contact, Imani was their only help.

But after a while of that, it quickly began to fail. And in the end, her father's plans to break them up worked.

That only made her anger stronger towards her father. This was the exact madness that drove Mattea to her end.

The sound of knocking rang through Brooklyn's ears, quickly snatching her out of her thoughts and quickly placing her attention to the door behind her.

Soon the large double doors were pushed open and enters Tiana with a banquet of red roses. Seeing this Brooklyn's eyes rolled as she turned her body to face the young girl as she approached.

"Hakeem?"  She smiles while placing her hands on her hips.

Tiana nods her head with a sofe smile of her own. "He just won't give up." She handed over the flowers.

"He needs to." Brooklyn examines the flowers before dropping her arm to the side.

Tiana's eyes stay on the bouquet, watching the pedals slowly fall to the ground with a frown. She didn't know Brooklyn much personality-wise, but what she did know she wouldn't let any man too close to her.

Almost like she was afraid. But even after all that, Hakeem continued after every rejection. Small stuff like buying her flowers almost every day with little letters that Brooklyn refused to even bother to read.

"I think you should give him a chance," Tiana spoke up making Brooklyn immediately shake her head.

"No need to distract myself right now." She sighed handing the flowers back over. "Throw these out for me."

Tiana slowly took the flowers back, staring at them before looking back a her boss. She opened her mouth waiting to say more but quickly shut herself up.
