Hardin

After a nice morning with Ms.Celeste I go back outside to my tent. It is still very much cold and my tent... well my tent is busted and wet. What the hell am I gonna do now, this was my only place to sleep and I don't have enough to buy a new one. This is just great, the only thing I have left is my food cans and a blanket which I can use to sleep on for now until I figure something out. I sit down right next to my tent and just start to think. If I could and mostly importantly how would I turn my situation upside down, well right now I need somewhere to sleep for the night and since I just spent the night with Ms.Celeste I will not ask her unless she wants me to. I could try to ask can I just spend the night in the bodega for like a day or two, maybe that will work..maybe I could... I jump up off my blanket and start walking to a place I know can help.

When I get there the big Red Cross front and center on the huge building tells me I've made it to my destination, The Hospital. I walk inside and I see patients in the waiting room waiting to be called for what ever reason they are here. I haven't been to the hospital for any type of check up in a while because of course I can't afford it at the moment, But the reason I'm here is for a special someone so maybe she can help me out. I continue walking ignoring the stares and go the lady behind the desk.

"Hello" I say. She looks at me and smiles Kindly.

"Hello, How may I help you" she says.

"Well I Wondering if someone name Tessa worked here" I say. What am I kidding I know she works here and beside she was wearing her scrubs this morning. She just looks at me for a few seconds before saying.

"Nurse Tessa, Tessa young" she says with her eyebrow's raised. I'm guessing.

"Yes! Exactly" I say. She looks at me again and I can feel she's questioning why I am here but she doesn't ask me she just picks up the phone and calls Tessa over the phone line. After she is done she tells me I can sit down on one of the chairs and wait until she comes down.

As I make my way to sit down I can still feel the stairs because of my clothes, when I was at Ms.Celeste house she gave me some of her son-in-law clothes that he left there when they stayed and they fit but are still baggy on me. It's only a couple minutes before I see Tessa appear around the corner her eyes wandering on patients until they land on me, she smiles and makes her way over to me.

"What do I owe the pleasure of seeing you here" she says and her cheeks blush an apple red.

"Well yesterday while the storm was happening my tent got destroyed when I was staying With Ms.Celeste and I was wondering if the hospital had a places for the homeless to sleep or if y'all had any tents laying around here because I have nothing else besides my blanket" I say in one breath. She stares quietly at me.

"Well unfortunately we don't have any tents here and we usually give the homeless a room to sleep in for like a day or two but since everyone is getting sick we can't do that right now, I'm so sorry about that but I have a better option if you are up for it" she says and this time I look at her quietly.

"You can come stay with me until you are able to buy yourself a new tent or find somewhere to stay. She says and I stare at her in shock, she takes a few moments to realize what she said before she tries to spill out "never mind" out of her breath and tries to walk away. I quickly grab her wrist and she turns back around with a gasp.

"If your offer is actually still on the table I wouldn't mind staying with you, I know you have a daughter and I think your just trying to be nice so I'll give you a couple of minutes to truly figure it out" I whisper  and let go of her wrist, she shyly smiles and back away from me. I Can't believe she just offered that to me and trust me I wouldn't be complaining but it's someone else in her picture and she needs to fully figure this out before fully committing. I sit back down and just count the clock to pass me by. She comes back after a few minutes.
