A Kiss

Skimming over our dance routine I notice at the end scene when I'm in his arms, which is 100% awesome, we're supposed to kiss and I look over at him.

"Lillian is going to kill us."

"Yeah...that's too bad. I'd much rather kiss you than her"

"Really? That bad huh?"

"Well yeah, I'm not into girls period."

"Me neither."

"I think Mrs. Sheen did this on purpose then."

"Oh 100%."

There was an awkward silence until he spoke again.

"Want to practice the easiest part?"

"Do I? Of course I do! But wouldn't..."

"Lillian's opinion doesn't matter, a show is a show."

"And it must go on?"

"For sure."

Lillian just had to enter just then, with a frown on her face seeing us so close together. Jarrald wasn't paying attention and pulled me closer, oh fuck- we really are practicing this part. He saw Jarrald close his eyes, so he closed his own. A few seconds later he felt Jarrald's lips touching his own, and gee, they were soft. He pulled back when Lillian huffed loudly.

"Are you guys done yet?"

"No, we're practicing for the show Lillian."

"What?!."

She looked furious, never has she ever looked that pissed, and I thought I had seen her the angriest earlier. She storms out shouting that she'll get the roles swapped, when she really can't, its meant to be an LGBTQ+ moment in the dance. The dance is about two boys who fell "wrongly" in love and it carries on to them not caring what others think. There is a 'running away' scene with quick and frightened dancing- and much more- and a lot of very flexible scenes I'm excited for.

"Shall we continue now that the drama queen has exited the scene?"

"Sure"

As we practiced for the next few hours the teacher checked in on us asking if Lillian was bothering us about the roles, and we told her what happened. She let us know that she would be given a warning, otherwise she will have to go elsewhere for ballet. We kept on practicing and god, his hands are so gentle when correcting my dance positions- he treats me like I'm a porcelain doll...and I LOVE it.
