Please check out Heart of Stone!  (Or just drool over the pictures I'll be posting of "Stone" ... that works too, LOL)

----------

Summary:

When Beauty meets the Beast, all Hell breaks loose.

Powerful lycanthrope Stone was haunted by a dark and painful past.

Spunky, twenty-four-year-old Aubree was oblivious to the supernatural world and the dangers that lurked within.

Their worlds collide when he picks up the scent of a century-long lost soul on her. Could she be the reincarnation of his deceased lycan soulmate?

He vows not to get attached, and she wants nothing to do with him. Neither one can deny the intense attraction they feel, but can they overcome their own inhibitions before the vampires skulking in the corners of the city sink their teeth into the lycan's newest fixation?

Blood filled his mouth as he sank his teeth into the vampire's shoulder, enjoying the satisfying crunch of bone beneath his enormous jaws. The bloodsucker screeched in agony and with a quick jerk of his head, he snapped the leech's neck before ripping the head off its base.

Collapsing to the ground, the fallen body began oozing pungent blood that burned his sensitive nostrils. Momentarily blinded by the acidity of the stench, he stepped back to clear his senses, the putrid smell dissipating slowly.

His mind connected with his packmates to update them on his kill. [Gerald is down.]

[Clean up crew is on the way!]

[Thank you, Guinevere.] He shook his head as he continued to back away from the body, breathing through his exposed teeth and coughing up as much of the bitter blood as he could. He called out through the pack mind-link for a status update on everyone else.

Gunner was the first to respond. [Carina just shifted direction. She's heading your way, Alpha.]

Alistair's update was next. [Adranus is taking off to the East.]

He chomped down on some wild nettle growing nearby in an attempt to remove the vile taste in his mouth as he waited for the youngest member of their pack to arrive. When she was within hearing range, he kicked up his feet to meet with Adranus, and hopefully Carina would follow.

He would take them both out if he could. If not, he'd chase them out of Minnesota and then they would be Wisconsin's problem.

[Carina is pissed.]

He smirked in a wolfish way as he picked up his pace, flying between the trees in a blur. [She should be.]

Gerald was like the son she couldn't have. She had doted on him for the past century. Of course she would come after him for killing Gerald.

That had been his plan all along.

[Watch it, Stone,] Alistair, his second in command, warned. [Adranus just changed direction. He's heading north now.]

He mentally cursed. They had just gotten them out of the city limits, and now Adranus was trying to double back and cross into them again.

[Did you get that, Gawain?]

[Affirmative.]

He knew that Carina was following him, not simply running east. If he continued running east, would she follow, or would she turn north as well?

He decided to try his luck and continue running east in hopes of drawing her out of the state, but much to his dismay, Gunner reported that she was going to tail Adranus.

Dammit! They're regrouping and getting too close to the city!

He pivoted, nearly losing his balance and smacking into a tree trunk if not for his giant claws digging into the earth and catching on a tree root to help give him leverage.

He was faster than them, but when they took to the trees, speed didn't matter. They knew how high Stone and his lycans could jump, and they stayed well out of jumping range as they leapt from tree to tree.

Stone and his pack came from an ancient breed of lycanthrope, whose numbers were dwindling thanks to vampires setting traps in an attempt to wipe their species out. They targeted the mates because a lycan could breed with only one partner in life, and that was the one whose soul was bound to them by fate. A soulmate was, thus, more valuable to both vampire and lycan alike, but in differing ways. Take out the mate and the rest will fall.

------------

These aren't cute and fluffy wolves we'll be dealing with either. I posted a picture of what I envision their lycan-wolf forms to look like on the summary page of the story. Grizzly beasts for sure!

It's dark, dangerous, but also humorous in parts (especially Guinevere, she's fun and always teasing Stone), and let's not forget HOT (sorry, no erotica, but there's definitely sex, just not explicit--especially in keeping with Wattpad's rating system).

So feel free to hop on over there and give Heart of Stone a chance!

Thanks!
