Nicolas's POV

The sun was shining bright as I made my way to Faye's cottage, the familiar excitement bubbling inside me. After a few days of work on the farm, I was looking forward to seeing her again. The way her laughter lit up a room, and my heart, was something I had come to cherish more than I had expected.

I had planned a simple lunch: sandwiches made with fresh ingredients from the garden that we had picked together, some fruit, and a couple of cookies I had baked the night before. It felt right to make something special for her, something that represented the connection we were forming.

As I approached her cottage, I noticed the flowers she had planted blooming vibrantly, their colors a joyful welcome. I knocked on the door, feeling a rush of nerves.

This lunch wasn't just about food; it was about us. I had been thinking about how much I wanted to ask her something important, and today felt like the right time. We had met a almost three months ago and everything just felt right.

Faye opened the door, her smile brightening my day even more. "Hey, Nic, You made it!" She looked adorable in a casual sundress that danced around her knees. Her youth was beautiful though she was only three years younger.

"Hey City, I brought lunch," I said, holding up the basket. "Hope you're hungry."

"I am" she replied, stepping aside to let me in. "It smells amazing in here."

I set the basket down on the small table in her kitchen and watched as she took a seat. The cottage felt cozy, filled with light and the scent of fresh flowers. It was a perfect reflection of her, warm, inviting, and full of life.

She worked so hard to make this cottage a home, and it was really feeling like one.

As I started unpacking the sandwiches and fruit, I glanced over at her. "So, how has your week been?" I asked, trying to keep the conversation light as I organized the food.

"Pretty good, I've been working on some projects around here. I think I'm  finally finished getting everything how I want it," she replied, a spark of enthusiasm in her eyes.

"That's great, I love seeing how much you've transformed this place," I said, genuinely impressed. "It really suits you."

"Thanks you Nic, It's been a labor of love," she said, smiling. "And I've really enjoyed it. It feels like home now."

We settled into our lunch, the conversation flowing easily as we shared stories of our week and laughter. I loved hearing about her projects and the little things that made her happy. It was in these moments that I felt our connection deepen, and I couldn't help but think about what I wanted to say.

As we finished eating, I took a deep breath, my heart racing. This was it, the moment I had been waiting for. "Faye, can we talk about something?" I asked, trying to keep my tone casual.

"Sure, What's up?" she replied, her eyes bright with curiosity.

I reached for her hand, feeling the warmth of her skin against mine. "I've really enjoyed spending time with you, more than I expected. You've brought something into my life that I didn't know I was missing."

She blushed, and I could see her surprise mixed with a hint of excitement. "I feel the same way, Nic," she admitted, her voice soft.

"Good. Because I wanted to ask you, would you be my girlfriend?" I said, my heart pounding as I watched her reaction. "I know it's still new, but I really would like to take this next step with you."

A moment of silence hung in the air, my breath caught in my throat as I awaited her response. I could see her processing the question, her expression shifting from surprise to joy.

"Yes I'd love to be your girlfriend!" she exclaimed, her face lighting up. "I didn't know you were going to ask that, I got kinda nervous when you got all serious"

I couldn't help but grin, relief flooding through me. "Really?"

She laughed, her eyes sparkling. "I've been hoping you would"

I felt a rush of warmth, a sense of happiness that enveloped us both. "So, it's settled then. We're officially a couple."

Mia squeezed my hand, her smile radiating a warmth that filled the room. "I'm so glad you asked. with all time the time that we have been spending together I was hoping that we would take it to the next level"

As the moment sank in, I felt a sense of peace wash over me. We were standing on the precipice of something beautiful, a partnership built on friendship, laughter, and shared experiences. It felt right, so right.

"Want to celebrate?" I asked, unable to contain my excitement. "I have a few ideas for our first official date as a couple."

"Absolutely Nic, What do you have in mind?" she asked, leaning closer, her curiosity piqued.

I leaned back slightly, a grin spreading across my face as I began to outline a few ideas. As we talked about our plans, I felt a warmth in my chest, knowing that this was the right choice. I knew from the moment I saw her that she was going to hold significance in my life.
