The day I left the city felt surreal, like a dream from which I couldn't quite wake from. I stood by the window of our old apartment, the sounds of honking horns and distant sirens fading into the background as I watched my aunt load the last of my boxes into the car.

The sun was bright, casting a golden glow over everything, and I felt a strange mix of excitement and anxiety bubbling in my stomach.

"Faye! You coming?" my aunt called from the kitchen, her voice laced with that familiar blend of warmth and urgency.

I took one last look at the skyline—those towering buildings that had felt like home for so long—and turned away, letting the curtain fall behind me.

"Yeah, I'm coming!" I replied, forcing a smile. I was trying to be brave, but the thought of leaving everything I knew behind made my heart race.

But it was what I needed to do, it was what i wanted. What would it be like in that small county town? I pictured wide open spaces, fields of green, and a pace of life so different from the buzz of the city. Would I fit in? Would I find friends?

As I drove out of the city, the concrete jungle transformed into rolling hills dotted with farms and barns. I pressed my nose against the window, the scent of fresh grass and earth drifting in through the open air.

Each mile felt like shedding a layer of my old self, but with each passing farm, I felt something else—a flutter of hope, maybe.

Passing the last road sign that says 'Welcome to Heartlake' I could slowly see the houses and shops in the distance, pulling over to a small coffee shop I breathed in the warm air that greeted me.

"Your lost girl?" I whip my head back around and face the coffee shop, coming face with a smiling old lady, her hair shinning under the sun, she was holding a basket with lots of little treasures.

"I- ah, No acutally. Well a little bit, I just moved here today and I just wanted to see the town before heading to the house I brought" I smiled back at her.

"You look a little young" she stated eyeing me up and down. I looked down at my attire, grey tailored shorts, white undershirt and a grey vest paired with some white converse.

"I'm 19 Ma'am, do you know where I can get house supplies?" I didnt think I looked that young, normally people thought I was a little older. Like when I met my best friend even she thought I was a few years older then her and I was infact not.

She pointed just down the road, "About four stores down, i'd hurry it closes in an hour".

I thanked her and walked towards where she directed me, the land owner of the house I brought sent me a list of items that I may need, apparently the last people that once lived in the house a few years ago hadnt cleaned up everything and the land owner didn't have time to come out and clean it. He also lives in a city but much further away.

'Harolds home depot', was a small store but it had everything I needed, after getting a million items that I needed and probably didnt need like these cute bed side table lamps, or the golden door handles.

Harold was a nice man, it was obvious that not many people moved here. He was delighted to see a new person in town though.

Walking out of the shop wiht my hands full and a smile beeming on my face I fail to notice the person I walked into until I ended up on the ground.

"Oh gosh. I am so sorry" I muttered out eyes wide open as I look at the guy in front of me, he was blonde and was quite tan, he had many freckles that littered his face, the rolled up shirt he was wearing complimented his arms.
