Hi! Thanks for reading. This one took me longer than I wanted it, but life has been hectic.
Once again, any questions are welcome, I will respond the best I can to every comment.
Enjoy!
"Tell me what you think." Nezu said, nodding towards the tablets in the hands of several of his employees.
Power Loader, shorter than most UA students, sat hunched on the edge of his chair, eyes locked on the tablet on the meeting room table. His wild ginger hair fell forward, hiding his eyes but leaving his mouth visible—a frown etched across his face. His slouched, goblin-like posture and scruffy appearance often misled people into thinking he was incompetent, but Nezu knew better. Higari Maijima was a genius engineer, if a bit rough around the edges.
His quirk, which replaced the tips of his fingers with metallic claws, wasn't built for modern touchscreens. Instead, he wielded a pen with surprising finesse, tapping at the tablet with practiced precision considering how clunky the metal tips were.
"A miracle," Power Loader snarked. Causing a handful in the room to chuckle. "We don't have the infrastructure or resources for me to accomplish something like this. At all. And definitely not in 9 months."
"Same here." Sounded a voice like deep scraping gravel, eyes turned to the owner, Cementoss. The man looked like a walking statue, body comprised of stone that groaned as he moved, he lacked a neck, his body shaped like a large filled cinder block with arms and legs. "My quirk manipulates cement, concrete—man-made compositions of rock. I can't create material from raw earth; it needs to be pre-made."
Thirteen, a small, compact woman with short-cut brown hair seated near the back, raised her hand. Those in the room looked to her, but most avoided eye-contact with her unnerving, dark black-hole like eyes. "Even if we had the materials, we probably don't have the legal clearance to demolish all those buildings in the marked area," she pointed out, her tone cautious.
"RUFF! Not just the buildings," Hound Dog commented, his involuntary growls mirroring his concern. "Your plan involves taking up land that's designated as a wildlife preserve. RUFF!"
"The whole plan is ridiculous." The sound of sleeping bag unzipping drew the attention to Eraserhead, the resident underground hero. His dark black oily hair, five o'clock shadow, and dirt-stained black clothes painted an unflattering picture even compared to Power Loader. He looked like a hobo, to put it shortly, and many thought he acted like one too. Sleeping while on the job, talking without any tact and regularly eating energy bars and drinking coffee instead of indulging in an actual meal.
However, everyone in the room knew he was a man of logic, reason and surprising wisdom. He valued realism and practicality over dreams and ideals. He was one of the few Nezu respected enough to allow him to challenge him in public.
"Even if we pull of the 'miracle' as Power Loader put it, what is the goal?" He continued. "Your plans for the entrance exam prioritize quirks that rely on brute strength, quirks that have alternative uses such as mine would be useless. The training facilities you're pushing for? All focused on combat. And the sports festival you're proposing—it's a spectacle. Pure entertainment. It won't do anything more for our students that our current festival doesn't already do."
Several of those present began to nod in agreement.
"You're also pushing for first-years to earn their provisional licenses in a single year and begin work studies early. It's unrealistic. We're already putting these kids at a disadvantage with the sports festival." Added Midnight, her raven hair was tied in a neat bun above her head, a few loose strands fell to either side of her face, it's sharp yet soft features had earned her the spot on many a magazine cover. Her steely blue eyes locked with Nezu's own beady orbs. "I'm starting to think that you don't understand how this works. After riding the high of being accepted into one of the best hero schools, a failure of that magnitude would be devastating."
