In the Slytherin common room, Daenerys and Rhaenyra sat at one of the heavy wooden tables, their expressions deliberately casual, though the weight of their secret task pressed heavily on their shoulders. They exchanged furtive glances, the crackling fire illuminating the unease in their eyes.

The door creaked open, and the boys sauntered in, laughter bubbling among them. Lorenzo, with his signature charm, effortlessly commanded attention as he leaned against the doorframe, spotting the sisters. He raised an eyebrow, curiosity piqued. "What's got you two still up?"

Rhaenyra shrugged, forcing a nonchalant smile. "Just trying to finish up some assignments. You know how it is."

Blaise flopped into the chair next to Daenerys, stretching his arms overhead as he settled in. "Assignments, huh? Thrilling." He flashed a grin, his carefree demeanor contrasting sharply with the sisters' tense atmosphere.

Daenerys bit her lip to suppress a smile, but her heart raced as she attempted to maintain her composure. "Yeah, thrilling is one way to put it. We were actually chatting about the different houses and their prefects. They must have their hands full, keeping everyone in line."

Draco leaned back, crossing his arms with a smirk. "Right? But some are easier to deal with than others, The Gryffindor prefect, for example—Elijah Storm. He's got quite the reputation.

Daenerys felt her heart sink at the mention of the Gryffindor prefect. "Oh, really?" she said, her voice deceptively light. "What's he like? I've seen him around, he's kinda cute," she forced a giggle out.

Lorenzo leaned forward, his expression shifting to rocketing mischief. "Holy shit, you got a thing for him?" he exclaimed, almost ending with a giggle. His face then had genuine admiration written on it. "Elijah's a solid guy. One of the few Gryffindors I actually like. He's not too full of himself, which is rare for his house." Lorenzo chuckled at his last statement.

Daenerys feigned a coy smile, playing along. "I've seen how he interacts with the first years. Really caring. And I don't know what to tell you, but that shit's charming!"

Rhaenyra exchanged a quick glance with her sister, impressed by her subtlety. "You should talk to him sometime," she suggested, keeping it casual. "I mean, you're gorgeous, Dany, I'm sure he'd love to chat with you."

Lorenzo, seeming more invested, had a mischievous glint in his eyes. "You know, Dany, I'd be so fuckin' pumped to introduce him to you."

Daenerys felt her heart race, but not with excitement. Instead, dread settled heavily in her chest. She couldn't believe she was actually doing this—pretending to like a guy just to achieve what was to come.  "Really? That would be...great," she said, her voice wavering slightly. The thought made her stomach churn, knowing what their goal really was.

"Consider it done!" Lorenzo replied, unaware of the turmoil within the sisters. "Just be yourself; he's a pretty down-to-earth guy."

Rhaenyra and Daenerys exchanged a tense glance, the implications of Lorenzo's words sat heavily in the air between them. They both knew that Elijah's friendship with Lorenzo made their task infinitely more difficult.

"Anyway, I'm going to bed. Don't stay up too late, yeah?" Lorenzo gestured, picking himself up from the chair. Draco and Blaise followed their goodnights and were off to bed as well.

As the boys headed off, the sisters sat in the dim light of the common room, the reality of their task settling in between them. The weight of what lay ahead loomed larger than ever.

The sun cast a golden glow over the castle grounds, dappling the stone pathways with warm light. Daenerys and Lorenzo walked side by side, their easy conversation flowing in and out of casual topics. Daenerys kept her composure, though her mind raced with the upcoming introduction. Elijah Storm, the Gryffindor prefect, wasn't just their target—he was Lorenzo's friend. This encounter had to go perfectly.
