The Great Hall was nearly empty, the floating candles casting a soft glow over the long tables. Outside, the storm rumbled in the distance, matching the unsettled atmosphere inside the castle. Rhaenyra and Daenerys stepped into the hall, still shaken from what they had overheard. They spotted Draco, Lorenzo, and Blaise lounging at the Slytherin table, seemingly unbothered by the tensions swirling outside Hogwarts walls.
As the sisters approached, Draco noticed them first, raising an eyebrow. "Finally decided to join us?" he quipped. "You two have been disappearing more than usual."
Lorenzo leaned back, his arms crossed, a smirk playing on his lips. "Thought you'd gone off to live your secret other lives," he teased, his gaze lingering on Rhaenyra with casual warmth.
Rhaenyra forced a smile and sat down across from them, Daenerys beside her. The weight of everything felt heavy, but she wasn't about to let it show. "Had some... stuff to take care of," she said lightly, brushing it off. "What have we missed?"
Blaise glanced between them, his usual calm demeanor in place. "Nothing too exciting. Though, the Ministry's been crawling all over the place today. I heard they're interrogating students left and right. Heard some poor Ravenclaw's parents got dragged out of their home for some questioning earlier. That boy came crying down the halls when he found out."
Daenerys, eager for something light, leaned in. "Who?"
Draco smirked, clearly enjoying the gossip. "The Gaunts. Apparently, they've been under suspicion for a while. Something about connections to dark magic during the war." He shrugged as if it didn't matter.
"They're saying it's routine, but you know how the Ministry is. Always looking for someone to pin something on," Lorenzo added.
"Bet that Gaunt kid, Lucas is freakin out," Rhaenyra said, though her tone stayed light. "He was always sorta twitchy, like he was gonna pass out every time someone mentioned the Ministry."
Lorenzo shook his head, a faint smile on his face. "Makes you wonder who's next. Half the pure-blood families have something the Ministry could twist if they want to."
Draco glanced at the sisters, sensing something off, but he let it slide. "Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much. They'll clear out once they've poked around enough. Like they always do."
Lorenzo nodded. "Yeah, as long as we're not involved, right?"
Rhaenyra and Daenerys exchanged a quick glance but didn't say anything. Blaise, noticing the look but not reading too much into it.
Lorenzo, also sensing the slight shift in mood, changed the subject with a casual grin. "Anyway, who cares about the Ministry when half the school is distracted with Hufflepuff's latest Quidditch disaster? They lost by a mile," he huffed, his hands gesturing in the air.
Draco chuckled, shaking his head. "They always do. Honestly, how they even get on the pitch is beyond me."
The conversation drifted into light banter, the tension easing as they joked about the usual school gossip and Quidditch. The storm outside rumbled on, but inside, it was as if the dark clouds hadn't reached them yet. For now, the world outside could wait.

The classroom felt busy with the low hum of chatter as Professor McGonagall strode to the front, her presence commanding instant silence. Books flipped open, and quills were poised in readiness. The smell of old parchment mingled with the faint scent of autumn creeping in through the slightly cracked windows.
