Charli threw herself on the bed and just cried.
Why had Anni not told her?
Did she not trust her yet?
Why had their anniversary been ruined by those texts?
She was never going to be a mom.
Her thoughts were a mess, thinking of the what ifs.
If she's stayed with Landon, she could have been a mom by now, yeh it was abusive but she'd have a chance at being a parent.
If Anni had just trusted her enough to tell her she wouldn't have been blindsided by this today
Why did Anni flinch so hard today? Does she not love her anymore?
Last night they'd spent the evening in bed and Anni had made her feel amazing, how did she wake up today to this?
Why was this happening?
She cried some more before becoming angry, she threw all the pillows off the bed, threw her phone across the room, trashed their bedroom before collapsing on to the floor, crying and dizzy.
"Darlin?" She heard Alwyn's words before she collapsed on a heap on the floor.
"Charli? Charli wake up," she could hear his voice but couldn't get herself to respond.
"Anni, Magnus," he yelled, picking her up off the ground, "Charli, come on, wake up."
Anni appeared in the doorway, looking around their trashed bedroom, "what the fuck, what happened?"
Alwyn had come up to talk to her, heard her screaming and throwing things, he'd waited until she'd calmed a bit to come in, he'd knocked but with no response, then found her collapsed on the floor.
"I don't know, I came in and she was almost passed out in the floor," he said, still holding her.
"I'm calling 911," Anni said, bolting for her phone.
Charli could hear them all, but still couldn't respond. She felt the tears in her eyes, rolling down her cheeks.
"Aye, hello, I need an ambulance, my girlfriend, she's collapsed," Anni spoke to the operator, giving the address and more details, tears rolling down her cheeks.
She was too scared to look at Charli, what if she lost her. What if she'd hurt herself?
That thought stopped Anni in her tracks, she made her way over to Alwyn, pulling up Charli's sleeves, letting out a breath she didn't know she was holding when she saw her arms were still flawless.
About 10 minutes later, the paramedics arrived, Alwyn was still holding Charli, on the floor in their bedroom, Anni was firmly planted at the door, Magnus was next to her, holding her hand.
She hadn't spoken since she came off the phone with 911.
Fear had overtaken her, any progress she'd made in the past two years was gone. She could hardly stand Magnus holding her, but knew if he let go she'd crumble to the ground.
"She's in shock, has she eaten or drank anything today that she could be allergic to?"
Anni was also in shock, racking her brain as to what they did the past few days, "no, no I don't think so, I, no," she stuttered out.
"Has she been out of the country in the past 7 days?"
Anni shook her head, "no."
"Any allergies? Medication?"
Anni shook her head again, "no, nothing."
"Could she be pregnant?"
Anni blanched at the question but shook her head again, "no, definitely not."
