Chapter 1. -More like dying ogre, just my luck.
•°•°•
"KELZEY RAE," an annoying voice- to say the least, rung over my bedroom. I was currently dreaming about murdering Santa Claus by tripping him into a valcano. It was almost to the part where the lava swallows him up, but NOOO some imbecile had to barge into my room unwelcomed and wake me.
Ugh. I so overly despise Mondays!
"What do you waaant?!" My tone rose to a squeaky pitch, and I even shuddered along with my dad who was currently standing over my bed eying me as his fury grew.
You see. Each Monday morning it was my dads duty to protect and serve, but first my mom made sure he had awoken the sleeping beauty.
"More like dying ogre." A voice sang.
Did I just say my thoughts aloud?
Cola, crapola!
I knew the noise didn't belong to my mother because it was boyish, and my dad... well he sounds too much like a macho barbarian. We could easily cross them both off the-.
I jumped out of my thoughts and sat up so quickly that headrush greeted me. Once the poking and prodding sensation vanished from my head I locked my sight on the 20 year old standing before me in the doorway.
My eyes widened immensely and at the moment I was greatful they didn't pop out of my head. Once my brain wrapped around the situation I began to contemplate why my older brother was back so soon. He was supposed to be training longer than this!
See, well he's in the Marines and has been gone for over a year. He was planned to be back months ago but got "lost" in Vegas, at least that's what he claimed.
Its a miracle Dillon is here, after all he could've died from flying monkeys!!
Don't blame me for my imagination... it could happen, those things are vicious!
Shaking my head out of my stupor, life came crashing back to me. It's as if I was gifted two more feet so I sprinted towards the light-which so happened to be Dillon, after pushing my bedspread off me. When I was a few feet away I lauched myself at him suddenly capturing him in a death grip bear-hug not wanting to let go.
"And the annoying one shows up and suddenly the more annoying one rushes to greet the day, life is so messed up." My dad says under his breath as he departs from the room. At hearing this I scrunch my nose while still hugging my brother and stick my tongue out at my dads back childishly.
"YOU'RE HERE! YOU'RE ACTUALLY HERE!" I shout suddenly but maybe a bit too loud since all Dillon could do was plug his ear and recoil away for a few seconds.
"Yeah, but KP take it down a notch." Dillon whined while I slightly chuckled. It was great to have him back, now I had someone I could annoy to no end and not become grounded. A gigantic smile played itself on my lips but truly only lingered there for a few seconds until the next words slipped out of Dillon's mouth.
"Get ready for school, it's your last year... make it count!" He whispered in my ear. My body became stone and my arms dropped to their sides. He did not just say the 'S' word!
'Shut yo mouth boy!' I internally criticized the idiot now standing before me.
"That's it!" I yelled as I pointed to the wooden door, my long sleeve pajama-shirt riding up my arm. All my brother did was laugh loudly as he strode away. He knew I dreaded school... but just had to go on and remind me. The thing is when I was younger and in grade school I'd do the same to him on his first day since my first day was after he started. Apparently he just wanted to get back at me for the many years I had gone crashing the dreadful news to him.
