I've known Reed since about last year. I met him the day my brother left for the Marines. At the time I used to be dating this guy a grade ahead of me, and one night being the idiotic teenager I am I allowed Nick to take me to a party. His mates from the football team we're throwing it and to say that he was excited was an understatement.
On the way there someone called and he willingly picked up. We we're driving on a busy road that was vacant at the time and all his attention was on the person on the other line. It's not like I would've cared anyways because we weren't even talking to each other in the first place. At the moment greetings were sent and the conversation went on, I knew something was up. Nick seemed sketchy and had serious look on his face.
He'd kept his eye on me due to the nervousness of the truth leaking out. At the time he wanted to make sure I wasn't hearing. He had been all caught up in making sure my attention was off him that he wasn't paying close attention to the road.
Big mistake.
Its as if he didn't realize there was a car at full speed charged for us In the opposite lane. I was shocked, and I'm pretty sure during the experience I wet my pants... I mean who wouldn't?!
After speaking up multiple times loudly it's is as if my shrieks and calls to stop the car were going into deaf ears. He had still been looking at me but I took the time to inspect his car, bad call but it was needed. While looking around, the opposite car was increasing speed and I found nothing... Nick's vehicle was spotless.
No plan came to mind.
Which meant no escape without falling down the large hill I spotted out the window.
Nick had been totally doing this willingly. He was willing to risk his life to make sure the clingy girlfriend sitting next to him liad off or died... he was even fine with risking his own life.
What drugs was he on?!?
Within the few seconds the cars we're about to crash I lifted up the lock and swung the door open then jumped. I rolled for a while but my ears seemed to stop working from a big boom that was set off behind me. Finally, once I stopped I was glad my near death experience was over and I didn't dare to look back.
I remember my mind at the time was so hazy and my eyes were spilling tears. On the many dumps and dips I rode on down the hill, I only made out with a couple scrapes and a deep cut on my neck that soon turned into a scar about a month and a half later.
After the jump I lulled in and out of conciousness. Within the period of time my sight was still clouded someone had come to my rescue and saved me. I knew my savior was a guy because to be honest, what lady can just pick up a 130 lb girl without falling or dragging the body.
The guy had to be my age but a little taller that me. Don't ask how I knew he was my age... the doctor shared that news with me later on. On the other hand I was sure he was taller than me because I'm 5"7' and I was picked up at a higher level than that.
Soon after I had apparently arrived at a hospital. I can't recall how long I had been in the white room because I don't even remember showing up at the place.
While I was sitting there soaking in the events a lovely lady in a blue nurse uniform strode in. She asked me various questions like on how I was feeling and what I last remembered, etc. I understood she was just curious and wasn't going to use the information against me, so I answered. I said that I was feeling weak and the last thing I remembered was that someone was carrying me then I blacked out.
