This is my life. The life of Naomi. My life as Naomi. I love to sing. Its been one of my favorite things to do ever since I can remember. As I turned 9, my mother and father noticed that I was hitting high notes like Whitney Houston. They decided to enroll me into a choir classes. It helped me a lot. Taking that class taught how to be myself when I'm singing. I sung for my school's talent shows and my church groups. When I was 13, I started to use my parents old video camera to record myself singing some of my favorite songs. I found out a website called YouTube and would get positive comments like "Oh my, gosh! You can sing!" And that would make me happy. But, there was also negative comments. When I read those messages I would feel kinda bad, but I chose to kept recording videos. Months after I started making videos, my parents told me that they had exciting news. They had explained that a record producer had called them and asked them if I could come in and record a demo. We called him back and told him that I would and the next day I came in a started to record. It didn't sound like me when I first heard it. But I was me. The record producer, Kan'Jay, told me that every new singer feels like that sometimes. And that he was going to send it to his boss. On the day of my 14th birthday, Kan'Jay can to a little gathering at an outdoor campground with an envelope with my name on it. I quickly opened it. It had the logo of the producing company on top of the paper. I skimmed over it and felt tears trickling down my face. It was a check for studio equipment and a invitation to the record company. Now three years later, I am about to release my first album, even though it took a long time, it was worth it.
