While the other campers were searching around the mansion, Papillon was with Hiroshi and Hayley looking for the artifacts, but stopped for a moment to look at a painting of Old John Tipiskaw with his wife, Eleanor and his pet dog before they became a werewolf. They stopped for a while before placing their hand on the painting and kept staring at it.

"Hey Pap, what are you looking at?" Hayley asked as she and Hiroshi walked over to Papillon after they noticed that Papillon was distracted.

"Oh, just admiring this painting." Papillon said as they were looking at the painting of Old John Tipiskaw, his wife and his pet dog.

"Indeed, it is quite an interesting work of art." Hiroshi said as he walked over to see the painting and admired how beautiful it looked.

"Though, at the same time, I kind of feel bad for Old John and what had happened to him and his family..." Hayley said as she admittedly felt bad. "He let his obsession with the paranormal consume him to the point where he lost his wife, his faithful friend and his own soul, and now his spirit is left to haunt the halls of this manor..."

"'Tis indeed a tale full of woe." Hiroshi sad as he shook his head and felt a bit of sorrow before he then turned and walked away. "However, it's obliged that we carry on and find our artifacts before the other teams succeed."

"Okay then, whatever you say." Hayley said as she shrugged and walked with Hiroshi and turned to Papillon. "Hey Pap, you coming?"

"Oh, there's no need to wait for me, I shall simply stay here for now, while you carry on." Papillon said as they placed their hands together, gave a calm smile and bowed.

"Well, we might have better luck if we split up, so by all means, go on ahead." Hiroshi said as he shrugged and went ahead with Hayley to find their artifacts, while Papillon stayed behind.

Papillon turned back to the painting on the wall as they placed their hand on the painting and kept staring at it. After a while, Papillon eventually stopped staring and went to find the artifacts needed for their team, but stopped when they got distracted by part of some clothing that was hidden within a crate.

When they opened the crate, they saw that it contained some old costumes, such as an old coat, an old top hat, an old pearl necklace, an old white dress and a few more items that looked to belong to Old John Tipiskaw and his wife, Eleanor.

"Well, what do we have here?" Papillon said as they took the costumes and felt interested in seeing them and smiled.

Papillon then left the hallway with the costumes in hand. But, before Papillon could go further, they heard somber sighing as they turned to see Pierce, now covered in dirt after getting spooked earlier, hugging his knees and moping after his failed attempts to keep scaring others. While he succeeded in scaring Aaron, all he could feel for now is humiliation for being scared too.

Feeling curious, Papillon then walked over to Pierce to check on him. "You seem to be troubled, Pierce." Papillon said as they leaned over to Pierce. "Care to tell of what's wrong?"

"Oh nothing much, just blowing it out on being a scary monster who's mostly managed to scare himself, thanks for asking." Pierce said as he was moping. "Why did I ever think I was cut out for this? I don't see how our team need me with them, if I'm nothing more than just a scaredy cat...Maybe I should go find Hiroshi and have him take my place instead..."

Papillon started to feel sympathy towards Pierce and his struggles with the challenge, but then they took notice of the dirt and grime that Pierce was covered with. Papillon looked back at the painting from before and at the costumes. Then, it hit them, and made them come up with a mischievous plan.
