Bharati, a dedicated CA, entered the café for a quick coffee break and was unexpectedly drawn to a familiar yet distant connection when she spotted Prince. He had transformed into a charming and charismatic young man since their last encounter. They exchanged polite greetings, but Bharati felt a rush of nostalgia that she couldn’t quite explain.

As they sat down together, the conversation flowed easily between them, filled with laughter and playful teasing. Bharati noticed how comfortable it felt to talk to Prince, as if they were reconnecting after a long time apart. There was a warmth in the air that made her heart race, and she couldn't help but smile at his charming jokes.

During their conversation, Bharati suddenly caught sight of an old photo on her phone. The boy in the picture bore a striking resemblance to Prince, making her heart skip a beat and triggering a whirlwind of emotions. The shock of recognition sent her thoughts spiraling back to her childhood, but she tried to shake it off, focusing on the moment with Prince instead.

Prince noticed her sudden distraction and a flicker of concern crossed his face, but he didn’t press her about it. Instead, he offered a friendly smile, sensing that something deeper lay beneath her playful demeanor.

Their meeting ended with a promise to see each other again, both leaving with a sense of curiosity and anticipation. Unbeknownst to them, they were slowly rediscovering a bond that had once been lost, hinting at a connection that might be more profound than they realized.

The cafeteria hummed with its usual energy, students bustling around, chatting over meals, and laughter filling the air. Bharati sat at a table with Prince and his two friends, Aryan and Gaurav. It had only been a short while since she’d met them, but their lively banter quickly made her feel at ease. They had a natural chemistry that drew her in, making her forget her initial nervousness about joining them for lunch.

Aryan, the storyteller of the group, was in the middle of recounting a hilarious incident when he accidentally sent the wrong email to his boss. Bharati chuckled along, trying to reach for her drink, her attention split between Aryan's animated storytelling and the vibrant atmosphere around her. Unbeknownst to her, Prince had the same idea, and their hands brushed against each other.

The light contact sent a jolt through both of them. Bharati’s breath hitched, her heart skipping a beat, while Prince quickly withdrew his hand, his face a mix of surprise and embarrassment. It was a fleeting moment, but one that resonated deeply, leaving an electric charge lingering in the air. Bharati felt her cheeks flush, a blush creeping up as she focused on Aryan’s story, hoping to shake off the unexpected rush of emotions.

Aryan, ever the observer, raised an eyebrow and grinned. "Oh-ho, what’s this? You two got some secret sparks flying?" His teasing only added to the warmth flooding Bharati’s face.

Bharati, feeling her face heat up, forced a laugh. "It’s nothing! Just reaching for the same drink." Her voice came out a bit higher than intended, a telltale sign of her flustered state.

Prince, his face equally flushed, rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "Yeah, Aryan, quit being dramatic." Despite his casual tone, there was something in the way his eyes met Bharati’s for that split second—an unspoken connection. For a moment, the world around them seemed to fade, leaving just the two of them suspended in a bubble of awareness.

As the conversation continued, Bharati found herself lost in her thoughts, the laughter around her fading into the background. She couldn’t stop thinking about the old photo she had seen recently—a young boy, someone who looked so familiar, standing in the background. When she had first laid eyes on it, her heartbeat had quickened. And now, sitting here with Prince, there was a strange sense of recognition. Was it possible that he could be that boy from her past?
