The bustling café was filled with laughter and chatter, a warm haven from the pouring rain outside. Aryan Malhotra had finally managed to carve out some free time from his hectic schedule and decided to visit his favorite café, where he often met his friends. As he stood at the counter ordering his coffee, he felt a flicker of excitement when he spotted Kavya Mishra entering the café.
“Hey, Aryan!” she called, flashing a bright smile that lit up the dim space.
“Hey, Kavya! Fancy seeing you here,” he replied, waving her over. They settled at a cozy corner table, sipping their drinks and engaging in light-hearted conversation, sharing stories and laughter. The chemistry between them was undeniable, a beautiful blend of friendship and budding feelings.
Suddenly, the rain intensified, battering against the café windows. As they continued to chat, the downpour showed no signs of stopping. Minutes turned into hours, and Aryan felt a sense of calm wash over him, being in Kavya’s presence. However, as the rain showed no mercy, they both realized they were in a bit of a predicament—neither of them had an umbrella.
“Looks like we’re stuck here for a while,” Kavya chuckled nervously.
Just then, Aryan’s phone buzzed with a notification. He looked down, but before he could respond, the café door swung open violently, and Kavya’s father, Mr. Keshav Mishra, stormed in, his face twisted with anger.
“Where have you been, Kavya?” he shouted, his voice echoing in the café. The sudden outburst silenced the chatter around them. Aryan felt the atmosphere shift, tension thickening the air.
“Dad, it’s just a friendly get-together,” Kavya protested, her voice shaky. But Keshav’s eyes narrowed, his anger boiling over.
“A friendly get-together? With a boy?” he spat, pointing an accusatory finger at Aryan. “I won’t allow you to ruin your future with these silly affairs!”
Before Aryan could defend himself, Keshav’s rage escalated. “Get away from my daughter!” he yelled, shoving Aryan aside. Kavya, in a moment of panic, reached for Aryan, but her father’s grip was too strong.
“Stop it, Dad!” Kavya pleaded, her voice breaking. “He’s my friend! We met at a party, and that’s it!”
But Keshav, blinded by his protective instincts, didn’t listen. As Aryan watched, helpless, Keshav’s anger turned physical, and Aryan felt a sharp pain in his chest—both from the blows and the realization that Kavya was trapped in her father’s overbearing control.
In a moment of vulnerability, Kavya began to tremble, her anxiety overwhelming her. Aryan instinctively stepped closer, trying to comfort her, whispering, “Kavya, it’s okay. I’m here.” But as her father continued to shout, she couldn’t hold back any longer.
