Two days passed, she lived through those days, as usual, getting perfect scores for each quiz and reportings she encountered, but in those days, she had a little hope, that she'd atleast get the chance to see him again, to give him back his keychain.

After class, as the sun set outside the windows, casting a warm glow over the school, Xandra found herself staring, mesmerized by the beauty of it.

She shook herself back to reality, knowing she had more to study.

For her it seemed like just a blink of an eye that now she has to study the topic discussed in class again so she went straight to the lockers area to pick up one of her stuff, she clutched her textbooks tightly on her hand, as she was about to close the locker, one of her books fell from her hold.

A hand caught it from mid-air and when she looked up to see who it was, a pair of soulful brown eyes stared back at her, she felt something funny in her stomach, it seems to be what they call butterflies, or maybe just her body trying to warn her, It was the same boy, his kind smile making her forget the nerves dancing inside her.

“Physics, huh? this yours?” he was still staring at the book rather than giving it to her so it left her confused,

“Yes, it is mine.” she extended her hand out, gesturing for the book he is holding, he smiled wider, a little mischievously.

"Stem student, I presume?" he asked, as he finally handed the book back. "I'm Alfred Velasco," he introduced himself, giving her a playful handshake that caught her off guard.

Alexandra felt her breath catch, but she stayed silent, not sure what to say. His smile faltered a little as he noticed her pause.

"Sorry, I'm new here," he admitted, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. "Can you help me find the detention office? I’ve been, uh, sent there but I have no idea where it is."

She blinked in surprise. "Detention? Well, it’s usually closed around this time," she replied, trying to keep her voice steady, even though her heart was racing.

"Aw, really?" he groaned, scratching his head again. "Well, that’s a relief and a bummer at the same time. Thanks, though." He was about to walk away when she stopped him by gently tugging his wrist.

"Wait... you left this at the track field," she said, handing him the skull keychain. His eyes widened for a moment in recognition.

"Wow, you had this the whole time? Thank you! I’ve been getting weird looks for ‘breaking into’ my own motorcycle," he chuckled. "Sorry about bumping into you that day. I got a little carried away with a chase on the field."

"It’s alright," she smiled nervously, "I’ve forgotten about it." she answered without much thought, feeling nervous by their close proximity, as they walked outside the campus.

They stopped at the bus stop, “W-Well, aren't you gonna get going?” she asked worriedly seeing how it was getting darker.

"I’ll wait until your ride comes," Alfred said with a warm smile.

Xandra pointed to the bus pulling up behind her, “well, that's my ride there, I'll better get going, you go to.” he shifted his gaze behind him before back at her.

He grinned. "No problem. Thank you for the keychain. It means a lot— may I know the name of my lifesaver at least?” he asked, “I’m Alexandra Gonzalez, but…just Xandra would be nice.” she uttered composedly.

She heard him lightly chuckle, “Nice to meet you, Xandra, you can call me Fred.” her heart started to race once again, there was no denying, she felt a sense of attraction towards the new student.

And as the bus pulled away, she found herself glancing back, seeing him still standing there, watching her with that same kind smile.
