Chapter 2

Chris awkwardly came and sat beside me. Mr.Penny then shouted "Everyone, we only have 20 minutes left in class, so get working!" 

I could feel Chris's eye staring at me, but I didn't want to look up. As Chris was about to say something I got up quickly and asked Mr.Penny if I could go and take a drink and he let me.

(Chris's POV)

I feel like i know this girl, and she seemed scared of me for some reason. My friends looked at me and laugh cause it looks like she ran out on me. I haven't done really anything to this girl and she hates me? This is going to be one amazing project....

(Brittany's POV)

I quickly opened the door and left the classroom.

I was so nervous, I didn't know what I was going to do. I knew I couldn't stay outside for 20 minutes. I slowly tried to walk to the water fountain but it was so close that it didn't take up much time.

After 2 minutes later I finally decided to go back into class. Chris was still sitting there but was talking with Hayden and his other friends. I quickly just went to my seat and put my head down. Chris noticed I was there and turned to me.

" Hi, I'm Chris".

I didn't want to even look up so I kept my head down and said "I'm Brittany..." He looked at me strangely. "Do I know you for somewhere?" I just brought up the fact that we had other classes with each other, not about when we were younger. I quickly changed the subject and brought up questions about the project. I definitely didn't want to do it at his house or mine.

But the only time he could do it was after school. We agreed to do it at his house.

*Ring Ring*

The bell literally scared me. Me and Chris had to get stuff from our lockers before we could go, we agreed to meet at the front of the school in 5 minutes. I rushed out of the class, went to my locker quickly as possible and then went to the front of the school. 

I waited... and waited.. about 7 minutes went by and he still wasn't here. Then I saw Chris and his friends walk out together. Chris's arm was around another girl, Hannah. She was a really nice girl and was "popular". She was very attractive. Chris quickly realized that he forgot about me, not really a surprise to me though.

"Oh yeah! We have that art thingy to do, sorry I forgot." Chris said. I began to realize that no wonder Chris rarely did homework.

"It's fine, but can we go? I have to be home for dinner." He let go of Hannah and said bye to his friends. Thank god his house wasn't too far so we wouldn't have such an awkward walk. 

We started walking. It felt like forever but we finally reached his home. Before going inside, I saw my mom's house. It looked completely terrible with the grass all dead.

I haven't seen my mom in so long, but it's not like she would remember me. 

Chris's parents weren't home just his brothers and sisters. Chris's brother Crawford was 1 year younger than him, and his younger sister, Karisma was 3 years younger. Also had an older sister, Kirsten who was 1 year older. 

It was very awkward walking past them while they were sitting on the couch watching Tv but luckily didn't notice me. We went up to Chris's bedroom. Nothing special with his room but had some nice looking drums. 

"So you play drums?" I asked.

"Yeah, just started, wanna hear me play a bit?"

My mind was going crazy, all i could do was nod. He sounded like an angel playing, really good beat. I just had to clap when he finished, he then smiled. God that smile was perfect. 

We started working on the project. He had me posed in this weird way but promised to draw fast. 

After half an hour later of me being in that pose, he finally finished. 

I wanted to see it but Chris told me it was a surprise.

I wanted Chris to just stare straight for my picture. It wasn't that hard for him to do. With me being very picky on the way everything looked I took an hour and a half to get it done. Me and Chris were having an amazing time and I actually started to feel comfortable around him. I didn't even realize the time. I looked at my watch and had to gather my things fast.

"What's wrong?" said Chris

"Oh I'm sorry Chris but uhm I have to get home for dinner now. Maybe see you tomorrow?" I said as I was throwing things in my school bag. 

Chris had this disappointed look on his face but he quickly changed it as fast as he could. 

"Uhm yea, it's fine. See you tomorrow."

(Chris's POV)

For some reason, Brittany was the only girl I could feel real with. I loved drawing with her, she may be very picky about everything but it's cute. I really didn't want her to leave but she had too.

(Brittany's POV)

I left his house as quickly as possible. I didn't say goodbye to his parents or siblings. I walked alone in the dark all the way home. I finally reached home with my dad not even home. I'm guessing that he had to work late. 

*The phone rang*

"Hello?" I said.

"Hey baby, it's dad. Sorry about being late, I'm on my way home now with dinner."

"It's fine dad, see you soon." I hung up the phone.

*20 minutes later*

My dad finally came home, I was starving. I didn't mention anything about Chris. I acted like nothing happened. I went to shower and then went to bed.

*Morning at school*

The morning was always so boring at school. I simply did nothing but go to class and get pushed around by people. Lunch was my favorite time.

Finally lunch arrived, I went and found Emma. I told her the whole story and she was so proud of me. I then felt a tap on my shoulder and I turned around. It was Chris. I just stared into his blue eyes.

He wanted to introduce me to Hannah. She was very nice to me infront of Chris. She wanted to speak to me alone though. Hannah brought me over to a corner. 

"So, you like Chris or something?" She said intensely. 

"Uhm no, why?" I said shockingly. 

"Don't act stupid with me, I can tell and back off, cause me and Chris are dating" she said.

She then ran up to Chris by surprise and kissed him in front of everyone.
