The car was filled with soft laughter as they drove home from the amusement park, the children dozing off in the back seat. Tul, gazing at Mew's profile while he drove, felt a rush of emotions—gratitude, love, hope. Without realizing it, the words escaped his mouth.
Tul (softly): "Will you marry me again?"
The car swerved slightly as Mew slammed the brakes, stunned. He turned to Tul, his eyes wide with disbelief.
Mew (almost whispering): "What did you just say?"
Tul chuckled, his eyes glimmering with affection. He took Mew's hand gently, repeating himself with a teasing smile.
Tul: "Will you marry me again, Mr. Mew?"
Mew's eyes filled with tears as the realization hit him. The love of his life, the person who had been through so much pain, wanted to renew their vows. He couldn't hold back the wave of emotions that surged through him. Without thinking, he pulled Tul close, his voice breaking.
Mew: "Yes... Yes, I will marry you. Again and again, I'll marry you."
They leaned in to kiss, but a small cry interrupted them. It was Tryan, tugging on Tul's shirt, his eyes sleepy and wanting comfort.
Tul (laughing softly): "Looks like our little one needs me first."
Mew huffed in frustration, playfully leaning back against the seat as Tul cradled their son in his arms. He glanced at the rearview mirror, smiling at the sight of their daughters, Mayera and Mayesha, fast asleep.
The next morning was full of excitement as they shared the news with Tyler and Anya. Tyler, grinning like a proud brother, immediately started teasing Mew about "stealing" Tul yet again, suggesting he whisk Tul away for a couple of days before the wedding as tradition. Anya, equally excited, helped with the wedding planning while keeping the children entertained.
Mew and Tul decided to have a traditional Thai wedding, honoring their roots and creating new memories. Mew wanted this wedding to be different, not overshadowed by the painful memories of their first one. The couple chose elegant, simple outfits for the ceremony—off-white and cream tones that symbolizes purity and new beginnings. They added a beautiful touch with white jasmine tiaras for both, signifying love and good fortune.
The children were dressed to match their parents, with Mayera and Mayesha in delicate white dresses and Tryan in a miniature version of Mew and Tul's outfits. The sight of their family all dressed in harmony warmed Tul's heart.
The morning of the wedding, Mew and Tul followed the custom of staying apart for a few hours. Mew, restless and eager to see Tul, spent those hours ensuring everything was perfect. Meanwhile, Tul sat with Tyler, who had a final duty as his elder brother.
Tyler (seriously): "Tul, you know, I've always been hard on you. I didn't know how to be a proper brother back then... But now, I know. Today, I'm handing you over to Mew. But you're not just my brother anymore. You're also a father and a husband. I'm proud of the man you've become."
Tyler smiled and handed Mew his responsibilities as Tul's protector, as per tradition. Mew, emotional but confident, accepted with a bow and promised to cherish Tul forever.
As the ceremony began, the atmosphere was filled with joy and peace. The officiator, a wise elder, blessed the couple with water poured from a conch shell, a symbol of purity and harmony. Mew and Tul knelt side by side, hands pressed together in a traditional wai, their foreheads nearly touching in quiet reflection.
One by one, their close family and friends came forward to tie sai sin (sacred threads) around their wrists, blessing their union. The children giggled and watched, clapping their hands in excitement.
That evening, Mew and Tul retreated to their room. The day had been perfect, and now, alone together for the first time in what felt like forever, they finally had a moment to breathe. Mew turned to Tul, who was looking out of the window, lost in thought.
Mew (softly): "Tul... come here."
Tul turned, smiling, but there was a trace of vulnerability in his eyes. Mew closed the distance between them, gently cradling Tul's face.
Mew: "I need you to know something... I love you. Everything you've been through, everything we've been through—it doesn't change how much I love you. Every scar, every tear, everything about you is beautiful to me."
Tul's eyes filled with tears. He had feared this moment, feared that Mew might see him differently. But here was Mew, his Mew, looking at him with nothing but love in his eyes.
Tul (whispering): "You really still want me?"
Mew didn't hesitate. He pulled Tul close and pressed a gentle kiss to his forehead.
Mew: "Always."
Mew knew that the night didn't have to rush. He already had his lovely time rushing with his desires previously but today it was different. It had to be slow and loving, it had to be promising rather than passionate. They began slowly, tentatively. Mew kissed every scar on Tul's body, every mark left behind by the pain he had endured. With each kiss, Tul felt a little more of his fear melt away, replaced by warmth, by love.
Mew (whispering against Tul's skin): "You don't have to do anything, my love. Let me take care of you."
Tul, overwhelmed by the tenderness and care, relaxed into Mew's arms. For the first time in a long time, he didn't feel like he had to carry the weight of the world. He was safe. Mew's hands were gentle but firm, guiding Tul with a deep, unwavering love. Every touch was filled with devotion, every kiss a promise to never let go.
They didn't rush. Their bodies moved in sync, not out of desperation but out of a need to reconnect—body, soul, and heart. Mew's hands were reverent, worshiping Tul's body like it was something sacred. And as they made love, Tul felt his fears dissolve, his doubts fade. For the first time in what felt like forever, he felt whole again.
Later, they lay entwined in each other's arms, the quiet night around them, filled only with the soft breaths of their children sleeping in the next room. Mew kissed Tul's forehead once more.
Mew (whispering): "We're going to be okay. You, me, and our family. We're going to be okay."
Tul smiled, resting his head on Mew's chest.
Tul: "Yes... we will."
And for the first time in a long time, Tul felt at peace
