I lay down, pulling the covers snugly over myself, feeling the warmth and comfort cocoon around me as San moved the tray carefully off the bed. He held his phone to his ear, waiting for Yeosang to pick up, his gaze drifting toward me with a gentle, reassuring smile that made my heart feel a little lighter.
After a few rings, San's face brightened, and he spoke into the phone with a playful warmth, "Yeosang! Hey, can you come over? Wooyoung needs his best friend right now, and there's no one else who can do the job quite like you."
He glanced at me, his smile widening as he listened to Yeosang's enthusiastic response on the other end.
"Perfect. And bring the chaos, you know how he loves that," he chuckled softly, the sound wrapping around me like a gentle embrace. "I'll keep myself and Jongho out of the way so you two can catch up."
San nodded a few times, responding to Yeosang's questions, his tone light and reassuring. "Yeah, yeah. Just be here soon, okay? He needs you."
He hung up, setting his phone aside, and came over to the bed, sitting down beside me, his hand finding mine beneath the covers. "Yeosang's on his way," he said softly, giving my hand a comforting squeeze. "And I'll be right downstairs if you need me. Just take this time to breathe, to talk, to feel whatever you need to feel."
I nodded, a small smile breaking through the exhaustion and emotions. "Thank you... for knowing exactly what I need, even when I don't."
He leaned down, pressing a gentle kiss to my forehead, his voice a whisper against my skin. "Always, Wooyoung. Whatever it takes."
I settled deeper into the bed, letting San's reassuring presence calm the turmoil still swirling inside me. His hand stayed in mine for a moment longer, a steadying anchor as I tried to gather myself. He leaned down, brushing his lips against my forehead, his voice gentle and filled with the kind of love that seemed to heal everything.
"Yeosang will be here soon," he murmured, pulling the blanket up a little higher around me, tucking me in like I was the most precious thing in his world. "And he promised to bring the full whirlwind with him, so brace yourself," he added with a soft chuckle, his eyes warm and tender as they met mine.
I let out a shaky laugh, feeling a flicker of warmth break through the heaviness. "I'll try to be ready for him," I whispered, my voice barely above a murmur, but there was a hint of hope laced into it that I hadn't felt all day. "Thank you, San. For everything."
He shook his head, his fingers gently brushing over my cheek. "There's nothing to thank me for, Wooyoung. I'm here because I love you, and I always will. Whatever you need, whatever it takes—you have me."
