The days flew by Artemis noted. This made Artemis sad, Artemis didn't want this summer to end. Cause next year it wouldn't be the same by then Mattheo, Perseus, and Damien would graduate from Hogwarts, and start their own lives.
Artemis knew of the others fears of them growing apart, they'd all been with eachother so long, but that may change when they all started their own lives. It was scary thinking that maybe one day they wouldn't hang out for months at a time, and would only see eachother at holidays.
"If you don't start doing your homework, you'll never become an auror." Regulus lectured one of the boys.
Artemis looked up from her coffee to see Regulus glaring at Damien, and Damien holding a firework in his right arm, smiling innocently. Artemis, Lorenzo, and Theodore laughed at the sight of Damien trying to hide the firework behind his back, while still smiling at Regulus.
"Do you even know how to light that thing?" Sirius asked, curiously, standing by the stove.
"We may not be doing our homework, but we're not idiots." Lorenzo said, still laughing.
"Speak for yourselves, I finished all my homework last night." Pansy bragged, smiling.
Pansy sat on the island having a conversation with Mattheo. Sirius stood by the stove, frying some hamburger meat requested by Tom. Damien was trying to sneak out of the kitchen, to set the firework off out on the porch. Artemis, Lorenzo, Theodore, and Regulus all sat at the kitchen table. Diego had been out on a run, running out all of his pent up frustration of being trapped in the house for days, cause of the crappy weather.
"Where's Percy?" Artemis asked, as she mixed the cards for the round of poker her, Theodore, and Lorenzo were going to play.
"Freaking out in our room." Damien answered forgetting that this would get the attention back on him.
"Now why on earth would he be doing that?" Regulus asked, annoyance clear in his tone.
Artemis shrugged looking at Mattheo, who wasn't mildly concerned about one of his best friends being. Artemis handed out the cards to the boys, who were quick to look at their cards, this was their happy place enjoying the silence while playing some sort of game, competitively.
Theodore was quick to discard a nine of diamonds, and an eight of clovers. Lorenzo was quick to discard of the ten of clovers, and a six of hearts, as they both looked at the two cards set on the table a queen of diamonds, and a three of spades. Artemis looked down at her five cards in hand, a six of clovers, a two of clovers, a six of diamonds, a five of diamonds, and a queen of spades. Artemis quickly put down the clovers, praying that was the right choice.
"Okay, I'm betting a sickle on this." Theodore said, confidently.
"Alright then." Lorenzo agreed.
Artemis put down the third card for the table, as the boys waited anxiously. They all looked at the five of spades, that was now the third card for the table, Lorenzo looked to be working out something in his head, Theodore was clearly upset about the turn of events, and Artemis was slightly relieved.
Lorenzo was the first to put his seven of clovers in his discard pile, clearly having finished his debate. Theodore slammed down a queen of clovers, but not without using a couple curse words to show his frustration. Artemis looked at her cards being left with a five of diamonds, a six of diamonds, and a queen of spades, Artemis put down the five of diamonds, looking at the boys who stared at her discarded card curiously.
"Two knots to that sickle, alright?" Lorenzo asked, looking at them both.
"Yeah." Theodore said, shrugging.
