It was supposed to be a quiet weekend, but of course, that’s impossible with five chaotic families. Everything took a wild turn when one of the kids caught a cold—and the others, in typical kid fashion, immediately assumed the worst.
---
1. The Sick Kid
Ethan lay bundled up on the couch, his face pale, a thermometer sticking out of his mouth. "I feel… awful," he moaned dramatically.
Earth sat beside him, stroking his hair. "It’s just a little cold, buddy. You’ll feel better soon."
"Drink this soup," Mix added gently. "It’ll help."
Ethan groaned. "Soup can’t fix me, Papa."
---
2. The Overreaction
Word spread quickly through the kid squad, and soon enough, chaos erupted.
"Ethan’s sick!" Finn yelled, running into the living room. "He might be… dying!"
May gasped. "What?! No! Not Ethan!"
Hana’s eyes welled with tears. "We have to do something! What if he’s gone forever?!"
"Ethan can’t die!" Park declared dramatically. "He still owes me a race!"
Leo nodded solemnly. "We need to help him. Before it’s too late."
---
3. The Rescue Mission Begins
The kids gathered in the kitchen, devising a plan.
"Okay," Nara said, pacing like a general. "We need medicine, blankets, and… uh… something magical."
"I have a stuffed unicorn!" Minn offered.
"Perfect," Park said seriously. "Unicorn magic always works."
"And cookies," Finn added. "He needs cookies to survive."
Haru rummaged through her backpack. "I have a band-aid. That helps, right?"
---
4. The Sickbed Chaos
All the kids stormed into Earth and Mix’s living room, armed with their "emergency supplies."
"Ethan! We’re here to save you!" Park announced heroically, tossing the stuffed unicorn onto the couch.
Ethan opened one eye weakly. "Huh?"
"Eat these cookies!" Finn demanded, shoving them into Ethan’s hands. "You need them to live!"
"Wrap him in the blanket!" Nara instructed. "It’ll make him invincible!"
Mix blinked in disbelief. "What… is happening right now?"
Earth tried not to laugh. "I think they’re staging a rescue operation."
---
5. The Emotional Goodbye (Almost)
"You’re gonna make it, right?" May asked tearfully, clutching Ethan’s hand.
"I don’t know," Ethan whispered dramatically. "I might not."
Minn gasped. "Nooo! You can’t leave us!"
Finn wiped away a fake tear. "You were a good friend, Ethan. A noble warrior."
"I’ll never forget you," Park whispered, holding back a sniffle.
Ethan, enjoying the attention, coughed weakly. "Tell everyone… I fought bravely…"
Mix finally lost it and burst out laughing. "Okay, that’s enough drama."
---
6. The Parents Intervene
Earth chuckled, pulling the kids into a group hug. "Ethan just has a cold, everyone. He’s not going anywhere."
"Are you sure?" Finn asked suspiciously.
"Positive," Mix replied, still laughing. "He just needs rest."
"Thank goodness," May sighed in relief. "I couldn’t handle the heartbreak."
Park crossed his arms. "I knew it was just a cold."
Finn nudged him. "Liar. You were crying two minutes ago."
---
7. The Aftermath
With the crisis averted, the kids quickly moved on to their next adventure.
"Can we have a movie marathon?" Minn asked eagerly.
"Only if Ethan gets better first," Nara said firmly.
Ethan grinned, already munching on cookies. "I’m feeling better already!"
Mix shook his head, ruffling Ethan’s hair. "Of course you are."
Earth smiled. "These kids are going to be the death of me."
Pond, who had been watching from the doorway, chuckled. "Don’t worry, it’s just a cold."
Phuwin grinned. "For now."
---
The End
And just like that, the kids bounced back to their usual chaotic selves, forgetting the "tragedy" within minutes. But the parents knew—this wouldn’t be the last over-the-top drama they’d have to survive.
Until next time.
