Hyunjin and I have been married for two years today, but in these two years he has never changed.
Hyunjin and I got married because of our parents. He doesn't love me and if I'm honest neither do I.
He always treated me coldly and like a stranger.
He never paid me compliments and never kissed me, only on the wedding day, but afterwards he filled me with comments in bad taste, like: <<How disgusting! You don't even know how to kiss!>>
He has never changed, two years like this and two years that I tolerated him in an incomprehensible way.
Every day I wonder if I can ever change, if I can become a sweet boy.
I'm sitting on the couch, stroking the fur of Kkami, our dog, even though Hyunjin calls him his.
I stare at an imprecise spot on the floor, bored.
<<What are you doing?>>. Hyunjin enters the living room and stares at me with a slightly disgusted face.
<<Are you blind? I'm caressing Kkami.>> I say determined and unaware of what he would do to me next.
<<Come, I have to show you something.>> he says, standing in front of me. I look up into his dark eyes. His face is so charming.
He has a well-contoured and clear face. Her mole under her left eye completes her cuteness.I move Kkami slightly and stand up. Hyunjin and I are a good four inches apart, another fact he uses to tease me.
<<What do you have to show me?>> I ask, with furrowed eyebrows.
He smiles slightly and touches my eyebrows, relaxing them.
<<Stay calm. It's something you'll really enjoy, Honey.>>
My eyes widen at the nickname he just gave me.
"Honey"?! Hyunjin has never tried to call me that...
He takes my hand, another thing that makes me jump, and takes me to the upper floor of our villa.
We go into the room, his since he has always refused to sleep with me.
<<Sit here. I'll be right there.>> he says, and makes me sit on his soft, soft bed.
The raven leaves the room and I remain there frozen. I notice the sheets he placed on the bed.
They are the same ones I gave them for her birthday. I feel happy and sigh in relief.
I thought he would never wear them.
I play with my thumbs to pass the time.
Why doesn't he come back? What if he wants to prank me? I should never have trusted that heartless being.
After five minutes, Hyunjin returns to the room with a package.
He hands it to me, with a smile full of joy.
<<What is it?>> I ask, confused.
He never gave me a present, not even on my birthday.
The package lies flat and is quite solid.
<<Open it. You'll find out on your own, baby.>>
That nickname again... what does it mean? Why does he call me that?
I remove the red ribbon that delicately closed the package. I delicately tear the gold paper covering it and open my eyes wide at what I find in front of me.
It's a canvas, with a portrait of me drawn on it.
<<D-did you do it?>> I ask, amazed.
He nods and sits next to me on the bed.
<<During our honeymoon I took this photo of you. The other day I was scrolling through my gallery and noticed it. You were particularly pretty, so I decided to draw you.>> he says, wrapping his hand around my waist.
I look at him with eyes full of joy, but without showing any smile.
<<Did you really do it?>> I say.
He smiles. <<Of course. Don't like it? If you want I can keep it...>>
I don't even wait a minute before I jump on him and hug him.
<<Thank you>> I say, holding it as tight as possible.
It squeezes my waist. He slowly pulls me away and looks me in the eyes.
I'm straddling him, which makes him particularly excited, you can see it in his almost shiny eyes.
Maybe I went too far?
Hyunjin comes close to my lips and leaves a kiss, chaste and tender on my lips.
He has never done this in his entire life.
My eyes widen at his sweet gesture.
<<Y/N... I have always kept the feeling of love I feel towards you hidden and I bitterly regret it. I want you to be my full-fledged wife. I've always been cold towards you and I'm so sorry.>> he says melancholy.
I place my hands on his cheeks and smile.
<<Don't worry. Everyone makes mistakes. It's never too late.>>
The boy smiles and kisses me again.
<<Do you want to be my wife in all respects?>> he asks me.
I smile and nod immediately after.
The boy smiles even more, which makes me feel good and we hug each other like there's no tomorrow.
There is always a second chance.
