Fear isn’t it; it’s the unknown that paralyzes you the imagined horrors that cloud your judgment the what-ifs that chain you to the past
Fear is a shadow that lurks in the corners of your mind creeping in when you least expect it
It twists your thoughts turning every possibility into a threat every whisper into a roar
It grips your heart making it race, making your breath come in short shallow gasps
Fear makes you doubt yourself question your choices and wonder if the ground beneath your feet is as solid as you once believed
It isolates you makes you feel like you're the only one in the world facing this silent terror
And worst of all it makes you feel powerless as if you're standing on the edge of a precipice staring down into an abyss you cannot escape
You were sitting on the bed beside Kaira who was sleeping peacefully her little chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm
The night outside was dark the kind of pitch-black that swallows everything in its path
It mirrored your heart which felt heavy and suffocated by the overwhelming fear that had taken root deep inside
Your thoughts spiraled as you stared out the window the darkness outside matching the darkness within
Tomorrow loomed ahead like a storm cloud on the horizon a day you had been dreading for five long years
It was the same hospital the same place you had been running away from
The same people you had desperately avoided And worst of all the same man who once held your heart and then shattered it
What if they see you? What if he sees you and Kaira?
The thought of his piercing gaze the one that used to be filled with love now possibly filled with anger or worse, indifference sent a shiver down your spine
You could barely breathe as the fear clawed at you twisting your stomach into knots
The guilt weighed heavily on you too a relentless burden you had carried for years
You had kept Kaira away from her father a decision that haunted you every single day
You knew she deserved to know him to have him in her life, but how could you let that happen after everything
After his mother had thrown you out her words slicing through you like a knife leaving wounds that never fully heal
The memory of that day was seared into your mind the humiliation the pain and the unbearable loneliness that followed
