Author's pov

Ishaan was buried in paperwork when Akhil entered the cabin, files in hand. “Sir, the meeting is in 20 minutes,” Akhil informed him. Ishaan nodded in acknowledgment, his focus still on the documents spread across his desk.

Before leaving, Akhil hesitated at the door, visibly nervous. “Sir, I also need to remind you about the annual employee trip. We were supposed to plan the campus outing… any thoughts on when we should arrange it?” Akhil’s voice trembled slightly, fearing his boss’s reaction. Ishaan could be unpredictable, especially when his mood sourd.

Ishaan glanced up at Akhil, his expression unreadable at first, then nodded. “Right. Plan the trip for this weekend—Saturday and Sunday. Two days should be enough.” His tone was authoritative, leaving no room for debate. Akhil, visibly relieved, nodded quickly and slipped out of the room.

The moment Akhil left, Ishaan’s stern demeanor cracked. A smirk tugged at the corner of his lips as his thoughts wandered to Vanika. “Butterfly,” he mused silently, “are you ready for this new journey?” With a chuckle, he returned to his work, the anticipation of the trip adding a spark to his otherwise busy day.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the office, Vanika was deep in frustration over her latest web project. She stared at her computer screen, her brows furrowed in concentration, but the issue with the design stubbornly remained unsolved. Just as she was about to pull her hair out, Abhishek appeared at her desk, noticing her distress.

“What’s up, Vani? Why do you look like you're about to murder your screen?” Abhishek teased, leaning casually against her desk.

Vanika sighed heavily, her voice laced with frustration. “Abhi, look at this. I’m trying to create this dynamic page, but I’ve completely forgotten the logic for the design. I just can’t figure out what’s missing, and it’s driving me crazy.” She looked up at him, her expression almost childlike in its exasperation. Abhishek couldn’t help but chuckle at her.

He shook his head, still smiling. “Alright, alright, let me take a look before you explode.”

A few minutes passed as Abhishek dove into her code, analyzing the issue. After a while, he tapped a few keys, and suddenly the problem was fixed. Vanika’s face lit up as she saw the results.

“Thank you, yaar!” she exclaimed,Relief washing over her. Then, with a playful glint in her eyes, she added, “Looks like all that studying of yours finally paid off today!”

Abhishek raised an eyebrow at her in a mock offense. “Oh, really?”

Vanika burst out laughing, They teased each other like siblings, their bond having grown strong in such a short time.

Time skip...

As the evening rolled in, signaling the end of the workday, everyone was preparing to head home when Akhil entered the room with a big announcement. "Hello, everyone! As you all know, our company organizes an annual trip, and this year's is finally here. We’ll be heading to a forest resort this Saturday and Sunday, so I hope you're all ready for some adventure!" Akhil said with enthusiasm, and immediately, the room buzzed with excitement. Colleagues turned to each other, already gossiping and making plans.

The tradition of the company trip had actually started with Aditya. He had been the one to suggest it to Ishaan, knowing that his friend rarely took breaks. Aditya figured it would be a good way to recharge the team, boost morale, and keep everyone motivated for the busy months ahead. Ishaan, though not usually one for trips, agreed to the idea, recognizing its value for the company.
