Third Person

Jungwon had a really fun afternoon with his sister that day. They strolled along the vast halls of the luxury submarine, grabbing lunch while they window shopped for items they could never buy. However, around three hours later, they decided it was about time to wrap things up. It was 2:34 when Jungwon, who had just walked his sister to her room a few doors down, began walking toward his room.

He opened the door to his room. He walked inside and set down his coat, stretching his arms. Suddenly, he heard a voice.

"So, you're finally here. I was wondering when you'd show up."

Jungwon whirled around, recognizing the voice.

His fear clear on his face, Jungwon replied timidly,

"Ni-ki is that you? W-What are you doing here?"

Riki stepped forward menacingly. He said, in a disturbingly quiet tone,

"I want an explanation for everything. Now."

Jungwon said, seemingly out of tricks, backed away, his hands in the air, "No need to get angry."

Riki's eyes softened, "I won't hurt you. I just want to know what exactly happened."

Jungwon asked, in a almost-whisper, "Aren't we friends? Why this interrogation?"

Ni-ki's eyes glowed with fury. "We are NOT friends. People don't disregard the safety of their friends and run away like cowards."

Jungwon winced. He replied angrily, seemingly breaking his facade, "Shut up! I know you're working for them. You don't get to lecture me."

Riki exclaimed, confused, "No, of course I'm not working for them! They made my life a living hell! Do you really think that lowly of me?"

Jungwon, masking his emotions, replied, "Is that so? What exactly happened?"

The other responded, shivering, "They took everything away. Everything."

Jungwon's eyes sharpened, but his face slid into an expression of sympathy.

"I'm sorry man, I shouldn't have drawn conclusions. Hug?"

At this, his friend was confused, but Jungwon surged forward, and it was simply too late when Ni-ki saw the needle glinting in the once familiar stranger's hand.
