Lizzie's P.O.V

"Mum?" Ruby said softly as she  clung to me in the car, "Why do we have to go to the hospital?" I gently move some of her hair away from her beautiful eyes. "I do not want to go."

Neither did I. . but I knew Tommy and he was not going to let this rest. "We are not going to the hospital." I said firmly, "We are just going out of town for a few days," Anna and Rosa were in a car behind us. We wanted to travel in the same car, but with the amount of suitcases we needed to split, this was the only way to safely leave Small Health, and away from the Shelbys forever. "Just until all  this settles down."

I do not want her to get involved in their life of crime, I have successfully kept her from it for eight years,  and I will try to keep her from it for the rest of her life. Tommy has Charlie and his family.  . .  I do not understand why he needs the two of us, or just Ruby in this case.

"Where  are we going?" Ruby asked  innocently,

"Dudley," A small town, a nice space, and were hiring for secretaries, perfect for me, and for my small family. I had called in for a small job posting I had seen late last night, and surprisingly the organization had answered, that they were desperately looking for a fill-in, and. even provided a small company cottage. "It's not that far from here," Exactly 30 minutes away, this was as far as I could get in one night, but I had no plan to settle down here. I just needed time, and money and. . . "Hey!" I exclaimed as the driver swerved to an abrupt stop.

Ruby held onto my arm tightly,  the driver panted as he sat upright, we were surrounded by three cars. "Sorry Ma'am, they cut in." He said trying to catch. his breath, due to his own shock.

My stomach sank as I saw Arthur step out of the first car, followed by Michael from another one, and finally, Tommy stepped out. They all stood firmly infront of the cab, as I shrunk back. "Come out of the car Lizzie," Ruby held onto me tighter, "Lizzie!"

"Let go of me!" Anna cried as I saw Michael drag. her towards Tommy, Rosa struggled in Fin's grip as they stood beside Tommy who had her arms crossed, "Let go of my daughter." Anna demanded as Finn's grip got tighter causing her to cry out.

"Lizzie!"

"Mum," Ruby whined,

Breathing out heavily I kiss the top of her head, and open. the door keeping her behind me at all times. As we stepped out, I shook my head in disappointment, "Let Anna and Rosa go Tommy."

"You have lost the right to ask for anything. Lizzie." Arthur said roughly,  "How dare you think you could run. from us?"

"I am not running," I snapped at him, "I got a better job, in. Dudley."

"Right." Tommy scoffed,  "The day after I demand to know if Ruby is my daughter."

Ruby's gaze snapped to me, I dreaded this. day. .  .I really did. "Mum?" Gently keeping my. hand on her back, I push her towards them. "Mum." She called for me again, "What are you doing?"

"Let's go." I say to him ready to follow him, "But first let go of my family." I keep my gaze firm on his,  "Now."

"Arthur,"  Tommy. said firmly, "Drop Anna and Rosa home, Lizzie will be going with me."

Giving them one last look,  Ruby and I sit in his car.  Tommy got in the driver's seat and began driving us back. into the. direction of what I. was trying to escape from.  "Sir, I do not want to go to the. hospital."  Ruby said scared of. his reaction, "Sir please," She went from Uncle Tommy to Sir.  That is how much he terrified her at this moment.
