"There’s a weight to the past we carry, and a light that guides us forward."

Halcyon has been a story close to my heart for months. I’ve been weaving it together slowly, like piecing together fragments of emotions that I couldn’t quite express. Writing it became my way of dealing with a sense of longing—a longing that intensified after BTS's enlistment. The quiet absence felt overwhelming, and I found myself missing them more than I realized.

Then, one day, I watched Jimin’s Are You Sure? show. That’s when everything finally clicked. His vulnerability, his introspection—it was like a floodgate opened. I keeled over, unable to hold back anymore. I needed to write Halcyon.

This story is more than just a narrative; it’s a reflection of my own emotions—of missing the group that has given so much to us, while also recognizing that life keeps moving, and we, too, have to find our way through it. Jimin’s character here is a man lost in the aftermath, trying to navigate a world that once revolved around his six brothers. The silence that comes after the noise, the emptiness that follows fame, it all became a space for him to confront the person he had become.

But Halcyon is not just about loss—it’s about healing and finding peace. Yuri’s presence is a reminder that even in our most vulnerable moments, there’s always a chance to find light again. She doesn’t rush him to heal; she simply walks beside him, offering quiet strength.

In many ways, this story mirrors the journey Jimin himself has taken through his music—facing inner struggles, acknowledging pain, and ultimately choosing to keep moving forward. His music, his show, and his quiet resilience inspired me to give voice to this tale.

If you’re reading Halcyon, know that it was born from the same deep love I have for BTS and the way they’ve touched all of our lives. This story has been a comfort for me in a time when I miss them most. I hope it brings you some comfort, too. And if you find yourself lost, remember it’s okay to take a breath, to pause, and to find your way at your own pace.

Thank you for taking this journey with me.
