“Then let me in,” she urges,
her voice steady.
“I want to be here for you,
but I can’t if you keep pushing me away.”
He sighs,

“Maybe I’m scared,” he admits,
“scared of being vulnerable again.”
“Vulnerability is strength,” she replies,
