Kinich pov

Kinich looked at the open window, seeing the white moon while the cold breeze entered. It has been about a week, he still needed to heal a bit, but the thing that bothers him is the nightmare. Every night, It'll be the same one, being more and more discorted, day by day. He would stay laying in bed for the whole night, his mind being overrun by loads of questions and answers.

He was tired, extremely tired, but he did not want to see the same nightmare again and again. His father's enraged calls, his limp body being dragged, and the question he always wanted to hear the answer to : "Will mother ever come back...?"

Being awake all night had him coming up with many answers. She could still be out there, maybe in another place in Natlan, in another nation perhaps. Or she could be.. dead, taking care of him from above Celestia. Where his father will never be able to go..

Wherever she is, Kinich desperately wanted to know, he wanted to be in her arms once again. Be able to hear her voice as she comforted him after his beatings. Maybe it isn't his mother that he wanted.. he wanted someone to comfort him, the thing he hasn't had for many years..

No one except Ajaw knows about his tragic past, but he would always laugh and mock him, so there was no point in opening up to him. Mualani might be the best person to tell, but he wasn't too sure. Kachina already had too much to worry about, he didn't want to disturb her already worried mind. And y/n..? Well.. y/n is the person he feels more at ease with..

Ever since she found and took care of him a month ago, he felt more calm and opened towards her. The idea of showing vulnerability around her didn't sound so bad. It was like she were a soothing balm for his wounded heart, able to help him conquer his troubled thoughts, even if she doesn't know it.

Kinich shook his thoughts away, starting to take off the blanket that covered him and got up, wincing a little from his injured side. The wooden floor creaking a little as he took careful steps, wanting to not wake up the sleeping saurian or y/n.

He walked out into the living room and headed to the door, opening it and slowly closing it to make sure he doesn't to any sound.

The cool air made his sash wave a bit, he looked up, seeing the bright moon and one, single star. Kinich had heard that stars are spirits that are watching from Celestia, he wondered if it was his mother watching him.

He sat on the floor, seeing the other houses being quiet. The silence brought some comfort to his exhausted condition, his eyes started to droop but he forced himself to stay awake.
