“Are you sure you have everything? Knife, armor, any potions you wanna use? They technically count as magic.” Esmeray asks, checking over Ronwynn. Ronwynn pushes her hands away as she nods. Esmeray holds her hands and backs up.

“I swear just a second ago you were fine. You were ready to bet with Jin on my victory. I don’t know why you’ve changed tune. Is the mead getting to you? Do you need to lie down?”

“No no I’m fine I swear. It’s just this is your first big fight and I don’t want anything bad happening to you that’s all. Some of the fights today have been wild and hard to watch. I don’t want you to end up like ol’ Xyrdove and be stuck in the infirmary for a month or more.”

Ronwynn puts her hand on Esmeray’s rosy cheek, “I’ll be fine Esme. Trust me. I have all the things I need to win or at least you know, not be gravely injured. Elfed specializes in mostly water magic right? Shouldn’t be too hard of a fight right? What could Beiren have taught him anyway? To my knowledge there aren’t many water enchantments unless Elfed’s mastered ice. If that’s the case, that's where I’ll probably be in danger.”

“Yeah I know, I know. I just haven’t talked to Jin in so long so I have no idea what Elfed can do now. Just be careful, keep your reflexes sharp, and make sure your head is on a swivel. To be able to excel with water-”

“You have to move like it. I’ll be fine. Now go find your spot in the stands before they have to drag you out of here kicking and screaming.” Ronwynn removes her hand from Esmeray’s cheek.

“Right well, good luck then. Medeis is on your side.” She nods at Ronwynn who returns it. She then leaves to go find a spot in the stands. As she exits, cheers erupt from the crowd outside. Ronwynn walks towards the tent opening to see if she can hear anything other than the thunderous cheers.

“There you have it everyone! That’s the end of our sixth fight for Tiltyard Three. Our winner is Knight Klaern Jofina!” More cheers erupt from the crowd along with some groans of disappointment. “Coming up next is one of our two Main Events of the yard. It will be Mage Elfed Daoinalos against Mage Ronwynn Nodelor!” Cheers erupt from the crowd once more. “Now let’s give one last cheer for the loser of this fight, Brastduil Wyvernshield.” More cheers, “Now everyone gather your food and drinks for the next fight, it’s sure to be a big one.”

“Oh Medeis. I didn’t think that the fight would be over so soon.” Ronwynn backs up from the opening and takes a deep breath. She double checks her equipment to make sure she has everything and then waits for the scribe to escort her to the field.

Ronwynn is now standing outside of the entrance to the field. She takes a deep breath as she awaits the calling of her name. ‘Just take a deep breath Ron. You’ll be fine. Esmeray and Aslocke believe in you.’

“All right everyone be seated. The event is about to start. Settle down, settle down. Now, if our fighters will enter the yard.” Cheers erupt as Elfed and Ronwynn enter. Ronwynn squints as the sun’s rays hit her eyes. She resists holding her hand up to block them so as to not look weak in front of everyone. She looks to Elfed to see that his red hair has been pulled up into a bun and he’s squinting his blue eyes. They nod at each other in a greeting.

“Here we have Mage Elfed Daoinalos.” The announcer's hand is extended towards Efled and the crowd cheers. A few people chant his name and he turns towards them and smiles. “And over here we have Mage Ronwynn Nodelor.” The crowd cheers for her and she hears Aslocke and Esmeray chanting her name. She looks at them and smiles. Esmeray cheers and grabs onto the person next to her who looks annoyed. Ronwynn shakes her head and lets out a small laugh. “Now everyone, we all know how this works. Whenever the opponent is unable to continue to battle, the battle is over and the last one standing is our winner. This is for our participants, no dirty tricks and no killing blows. This may be a fight but, we do not want any funerals occurring during this joyous time!” The announcer throws his hands up and the crowd cheers once more.
