The room seemed to shrink around them as the curse's voice echoed in the air, sending chills down Rhea's spine. The shadows on the walls writhed like living things, twisting and contorting into grotesque shapes. The air was heavy, thick with dark magic that clung to her skin and weighed down her every breath.Draco stood frozen beside her, his face pale but his eyes hard with determination. He had faced this darkness before—lived with it for years—but Rhea could see the fear flickering behind his eyes. They had come to Malfoy Manor in search of answers, but now it seemed like they had walked straight into the heart of the curse itself.
"You cannot escape me," the voice whispered again, its tone dripping with malice. It seemed to come from everywhere at once, surrounding them, pressing in on them.
Rhea swallowed hard, trying to keep her fear at bay. She had to be strong, for Draco's sake. They couldn't let the curse win. "We're not here to escape," she said, her voice steady despite the terror clawing at her chest. "We're here to end this."
A low, mocking laugh echoed through the room, and the shadows seemed to pulse with dark energy. "End this? Foolish girl. You cannot end what is eternal."
Rhea tightened her grip on her wand, her heart pounding. "You're wrong. We will find a way."
Draco stepped forward, his expression fierce. "This ends now," he growled, his voice low and dangerous. "I won't let you control me anymore."
The shadows shifted, swirling around them like a living storm. The curse's voice grew louder, more menacing. "You think you are strong enough to face me? You, who have been marked by darkness since birth? You are nothing without me."
Rhea's heart sank at the curse's words, but Draco didn't falter. He raised his wand, his jaw clenched. "I am not nothing," he said through gritted teeth. "I am more than this curse."
The room seemed to quake at his defiance, the very walls shuddering as if the house itself was reacting to his words. The shadows recoiled for a moment, as if the curse itself was taken aback by Draco's strength. But then, they surged forward again, darker and more powerful than before.
Suddenly, a gust of wind tore through the room, knocking Rhea off balance. She stumbled, her wand slipping from her grasp as the dark magic swirled around her, wrapping her in a suffocating embrace. She gasped for air, the shadows closing in on her, their cold tendrils wrapping around her throat.
"Rhea!" Draco's voice cut through the darkness, filled with panic. She could see him through the haze of shadows, his face contorted with fear as he struggled to fight his way toward her.
But the curse was too strong. The dark magic pressed in on her, filling her mind with whispers, promises of power and destruction. It was overwhelming, drowning her in its cold embrace.
Give in, the voice whispered. Embrace the darkness. It is your only salvation.
"No," Rhea gasped, fighting to stay conscious as the shadows closed in on her. She couldn't let it win. She couldn't give in to the darkness.
