Hazel had never run faster out of the dorms than ever before.

"What do you mean?!" Hazel gasped, almost crashing into Ren, who just walked on, fire blazing deep in her pale blue eyes. The sound of the empty corridors echoed along them, leaving Hazel to notice how no one really had gotten up yet.

She had nearly forgotten, it was the weekend.

"We are going to spend our weekend becoming detectives!" Ren grinned. "I was able to borrow some amazing books from the library, which showed me how to truly act like a great investigator."

"Wait, I want to know what that entire cryptic thing you said was about just then." Hazel interjected, making Ren whirl around.

"Oh! As I said, I suspect I'm a sensor, and me, you, Koji, and one other kid at this children's home are drawing my attention." Ren frowned in thought. "I must admit that's one of the reasons I talked to you."

"Ah." Hazel sighed. "But really? You can sense Majyk on me?!" Hazel quickened in pace, her excitement bubbling over.

"Maybe..." Ren shrugged. "Sorry, I'm still trying to feel out my own Majyk."

"No, you're all good. Who is the fourth kid anyway?" Hazel asked.

"I don't know their name, but that troublemaker in the class below me? The one who constantly is being yelled at." Ren shrugged.

"Oh! That's Falen." Hazel smiled. "Azeas tells me about their antics."

Hazel had heard about Falen a few times, they were chaotic people, always causing trouble. Yet they were an expert in Alchemy, but only in dangerous, chaos causing ways.

"Our first business is to talk to them." Ren said, as they headed towards Koji's dorm. "Once we grab Koji we can intercept Falen."

"How do you know where they are?" Hazel frowned.

"I- I may take my ways a bit too far when learning things."

"YOU STALKED THEM?"

"You as well-"

"WHAT???"

"What am I supposed to do? I wasn't confident in talking to you until I did, since I couldn't find a perfect moment to seamlessly introduce myself!" Ren's eyes burned with passion. "I try to make sure everything is at pin point accuracy, so that of course means learning where you're most likely to be."

Hazel's head hurt. "So you think this is the best time to talk to Falen?"

"Yes. Falen has a very unpredictable nature, making it hard to talk to them." Ren nodded "But recently they have been going on a walk through the same route every Saturday morning in the same time frame, this makes the perfect situation of bumping into them."

"You're crazy."

"At least I had that opportunity to just talk to you, since you being next to Azeas all the time makes it hard to talk." Ren grumbled.

"Does it?" Hazel blinked.

"Some kids think you are actually related, you're that inseparable." Ren gave Hazel a look, almost like she wanted to know if it was true.

"Well, we kind of like to think we're siblings." Hazel smiled. "It comforts me that I can consider someone family."

Ren sighed, disappointed.

Hazel felt very awkward walking next to Ren now.

She always thought Ren was some quiet nerd, which she kind of was? But her mind truly reached depths beyond Hazel's, no wonder she was a Mind Kindre.
