Friends forever...

You had been an official member of BTS since 2015, and the experience had been nothing short of exhilarating. You wouldn't trade it for anything, but being the only girl in a group of seven boys presented its own challenges.

Maintaining friendships with girls who weren't idols became increasingly difficult. Many of them were supportive at first, but as your schedule filled with practices and interviews, their patience waned. Some friends felt neglected, especially when they couldn't understand why you prioritized time with the boys over hanging out with them. They would comment on how rude it was to spend so much time with seven boys instead of your friends, and it stung more than you wanted to admit.

When you and Jungkook started school together, you found yourselves in the same grade and attending the same school, but his life was already consumed by his role in BTS. You knew that for the boys, their friends were each other, and that bond was solidified by years of working and living together. You, on the other hand, had the chance to build friendships before becoming an idol, which made the transition to this new life feel even more complicated.

You never brought up your struggles with your non-idol friends to the boys, as they always encouraged you to maintain those friendships. You didn't want to burden them with your issues, especially when they were focused on their own challenges within the industry.

Text from Your Friend
Yoonhee: Hey, can you hang out with us tonight? We were planning to have dinner at mine and then hit the clubs since it's Friday night. Or do you have practice or something again?

You hesitated for a moment, biting your lip as you considered her invitation.

You: Hey, sorry, I can't tonight. I don't have practice, but it's my only night free where I can just relax.

Yoonhee: Seriously, Y/N? You're literally free tonight, but you don't want to spend time with us?

You sighed, feeling a bit of guilt creeping in.

You: It's not like that. I also can't go to a club anymore, sorry.

Yoonhee: Fine! We don't have to go to the club. Come on, Y/N! Just come and see us for once! We're supposed to be friends. We graduate together in a few months! Just please!

You: Okay, fine!

Feeling a mix of excitement and apprehension, you walked out of your room. As you stepped into the living area, you noticed Jungkook and Jimin engrossed in a gaming session, their laughter echoing off the walls.

"Hey, where's Jin-oppa?" you asked, glancing around.

"In his room," Jungkook replied, not taking his eyes off the screen.

You walked down the hallway and knocked on Jin's door, opening it to find him intensely focused on a game on his own TV.

"Hey, Jin-oppa, can you drive me to Yoonhee's house?" you asked, trying to keep your tone casual.

"Yeah, sure!" Jin replied, pausing the game and flashing you a smile.

You both walked down to Jin's car, the familiar sound of the engine starting reassuring you.

"You know, it's great that you still have friends outside of the band," Jin said, glancing over at you as you settled into the passenger seat. "I feel bad for the others, though. We both had the chance to make friends before BTS took off, while they were too busy with everything."

"Yeah, sometimes it's hard," you admitted, staring out the window as the scenery blurred past. "My friends are always like, 'Why aren't you coming to school? Why can't you hang out with us?' It feels like they don't understand."
