The city was alive with the hum of
traffic and the bustling crowds, but
for Kim Seokjin, the world beyond his towering skyscrapers had
always felt distant, a blur of meaningless noise. His empire was
vast, stretching across continents, yet the loneliness he carried weighed heavier than any of his achievements. He had everything a man could dream of—wealth, power, and influence—but none of it brought him the peace he sought.

It was a rare day when he allowed himself to step away from his lavish office. The air outside was crisp, and he felt an itch for something... different. He didn’t care for the crowds, nor the hustle. But today, for reasons he couldn’t explain, he found himself wandering the streets of a small neighborhood, far from the glittering luxury of his own world.

As he passed by a quaint café, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and pastries floated into the air, something about it pulling his attention in. He had no plans of stopping, yet something inside him urged him to enter. The café was small, tucked away between two larger buildings, its windows warmly inviting. And there, behind the counter, was Kim Namjoon.

At first, Seokjin thought it was a figment of his imagination, but as his eyes locked onto the boy, the world around him seemed to stop. Namjoon was unlike anyone he had ever seen. His presence was soft yet magnetic, a calm, almost serene aura that contrasted the chaos of the streets outside. He had the most striking features—a kind face framed by dark hair, his eyes warm with a gentleness that Seokjin hadn’t encountered in years. There was something about him that made Seokjin’s heart race, something he couldn’t quite explain.

Namjoon moved behind the counter with an ease that showed he was comfortable in his surroundings, his hands deftly preparing orders while exchanging smiles with the customers. His movements were graceful, effortless. It was as though time itself was slowing down, and in that moment, Seokjin was transfixed.

For the first time in years, Seokjin felt something stir inside him, something deep and unsettling. He couldn’t take his eyes off Namjoon. There was no doubt in his mind that this boy was different—beautiful, yes, but there was something more. Something pure, something untainted by the darkness of the world.

His usual cold, calculating mind, the one that always kept him in control, faltered. Obsession had always been foreign to him. But now, as he watched Namjoon serve a customer with a soft smile, his heart twisted with a possessiveness he couldn’t ignore.

He reached into his jacket, pulling out his phone, and tapped a few commands. Moments later, a low voice crackled in his ear.

"Sir, what can we do for you?" It was his trusted right-hand man, Minho, always quick to respond to his orders.

"Find out everything you can about the boy behind the counter. His name is Kim Namjoon. I want to know his background—family, friends, every detail."

There was a brief silence before Minho’s voice came through again, this time with a hint of surprise. "Understood, sir. I’ll get the information immediately."

Seokjin pocketed his phone and returned his gaze to Namjoon, who was now laughing softly with a customer, his laughter like a gentle melody. There was a warmth in it, something that struck Seokjin in the chest, a feeling so unfamiliar it almost made him uncomfortable.

But he didn’t care.

He had to have Namjoon. He had to know everything about him.

As the moments passed, Seokjin remained in his spot just outside the café, watching. It was not enough to simply observe; he felt the need to learn more, to possess this boy’s every thought, every breath. The boy who hated people like him. The boy who would never belong to his world.

But that didn’t matter now.

Kim Seokjin was going to make sure of it.

The quiet buzzing of his phone interrupted his thoughts, and Minho's voice was there again, low and urgent. "Sir, we have the information. His full name is Kim Namjoon. He works here part-time at this café, but his family is... different. They are not wealthy. He has a boyfriend—Jung Hoseok, a boy from a similar background."

A surge of irritation flashed through Seokjin, but he controlled it. This Namjoon was already entangled with someone else. That fact only added fuel to his obsession. He wanted Namjoon more now, wanted him as his, more than anything.

Seokjin's lips curled into a smile that didn’t reach his eyes. This was going to be... interesting.
