The warm scent of old books enveloped the small library, creating a cozy atmosphere as Hermione and Lyra settled into their favorite corner, surrounded by towering shelves of stories waiting to be explored. Hermione had her nose buried in a thick book about mythical creatures, but her mind was elsewhere.

“I can’t believe you’re going to Hogwarts in just a month,” Hermione said, glancing up with a frown. “It won’t be the same without you here.”

Lyra looked up, her brow furrowed in concern. “I know it’s hard, but I promise I’ll be back for the holidays. And Nymphadora will be home too! She’ll have so many stories to share from her time at Hogwarts.”

“But it’s not just that,” Hermione replied, biting her lip. “What if you make new friends and forget about me? What if you get too busy with all the magic?”

Lyra reached across the table, taking Hermione’s hand in hers. “I could never forget you, Hermione. You’re my best friend. Plus, you’ll be coming next year! We’ll be able to share everything. Just think of all the things I can show you!”

Hermione sighed, her worries softening under the warmth of Lyra’s smile. “You know, I still can’t believe that I’m actually a witch.”

“I guess it is a little hard to believe when you've grown up without knowing anything about it,” replied Lyra.

“I’m a little worried about how my parents will react when my letter comes. What if they hate what I am?” said Hermione worriedly.

“They're your parents, Mimi. They'll love you no matter what.”

“I hope so.”

Lyra squeezed her hand reassuringly. “Don’t worry, Hermione. We’ll always have our adventures, no matter where we are. Hogwarts won’t change that.”

Hermione nodded, feeling a little lighter. “Okay, I’ll try not to think about it too much. Just promise me one thing.”

“Anything!” Lyra replied.

“Promise me you’ll come back with a ton of stories to tell,” Hermione said, a playful glint in her eyes.

“Deal!” Lyra grinned. “And I expect you to read every letter I send. It’ll be like our own little book club, just with letters instead of books.”

With that, the two girls returned to their books, laughter and excitement mingling with their hopes for the future.

As the sun began to set, casting a warm golden light through the windows, the Tonks household was buzzing with activity. Andy moved gracefully through the kitchen, her hands busy icing a cake adorned with colorful sprinkles and candles. The scent of vanilla and chocolate wafted through the air, mixing with the aroma of freshly baked pastries.

“Are you sure you don’t want any help, Mum?” Dora asked, trying to balance a stack of colorful party hats and balloons in her arms.

Andy smiled, her eyes crinkling at the corners. “I’ve got it under control, dear. But if you want to help, you can set up the decorations in the living room. Just be careful with those balloons; I don’t want them popping before the party starts!”
