Part- IThe first time Shuvrob Tahsan met Akhi Immam was on a bright autumn day in October 2020, a year during the pandemic.
Their first meeting was under a bunch of odd circumstances; out of all the places it could have been, it was in a hospital. The then-troublemaker 14-year-old Shuvrob fractured his leg, resulting in him being stuck in a fancy hospital for five weeks. To his surprise and slight delight, he didn't need to be completely bored in this sickening white cabin. Another child was assigned to the same cabin as him.
She introduced herself as Akhi, a short, bony-looking child who appeared even younger than him, probably around the age of eight or nine.
Despite her awfully sick demeanor, there was a soft, elegant grace in her appearance, the kind Shuvrob recognized that posh kids from Gulshan or Uttara wore—a visible sign of their coddled upbringing. Kids like that meant trouble for punk kids like Shuvrob. But five weeks was an awfully long time to ignore another human being who shared his space. So, the third time she tried to introduce herself in her mother's presence, he couldn't turn around. Reluctant at first, Shuvrob introduced himself-
"I am Shuvro."
Shuvro, that was the name he was hell bent on establishing as his nick name back then.
Short and clipped, that was their first conversation—a beginning to the infamous duo, a duo that would be equally adored and a terror to their neighbors in the coming year.------------------
Their last meet was as unoccasionall and unceremonious as their first. It was another chilly day in December 2023.
Their gang of four troublemakers and Akhi gathered around in their favorite spot: the river that flowed by the bay of their city.
Loud chatter, tea cup clinking- to say that they had a blast would be an underestimation. They talked about their college, the national economy, the case of the public syndicate market, the never-ending issue of subject failures, how one of them unintentionally mixed up a bunch of unknown chemicals in his lab, and how gross the zoology dissection class was.
Their loud chatter continued until the sun went down. Shuvro and Akhi were the last to part ways. Shuvro, being the self-proclaimed gentleman that he is, accompanied her to the main road where her car was parked. Before she takes her leave, she reminds him of their book-hunting project. Hands on her hips in her usual authoritative posture.
"Tomorrow, you're going to wait, right?"
"For you—a thousand times over,"
Shuvro cheekily quotes his favorite line from his favorite piece of literature. The bond between Hassan and Amir strongly reminds him of his bond with his pair.
He watches as she grins wide, waving at him before her chauffeur drives off. And that was the last time Shuvro Tahsan ever saw Akhi Imam. That's when she completely disappeared.
Months prior to the July massacre,2024
Finally I managed to write the first chapter- phew! It's not exactly a chapter per say- as you can see.
The book will be broke down into two parts, at least I intend to. I want to take my time writing this one. I mean its not like I'm gonna be a published author or something like that. I simply write for fun.
So however long it takes, how unpopular my writing is I want it to be good, something others will enjoy. As for updating schedule I don't have one:/
