hiatus

sorry for the lack of updates, i just wanted to say that i'm extremely burnt out right now from just about everything. so i'll be going on an indefinite hiatus for around a month or two, im not sure.

while i'm gone, here's a little one-shot i was working on !!

feeling the snow crunch beneath his winter boots, a weak yet brave young boy ran faster to catch up with the taller figure before him. a large, round straw hat sat upon his head, blocking any light from his face.

he stumbled, falling to his front. ajax was barely the age of twelve at this time, mind still clouded with all sorts of curiosities.

"a-" a small sound escaped ajax's mouth before landing in the snow with a thump.

the taller figure stopped, and turned to ajax. he walked over cautiously before kneeling down, poking the small boy with a delicate finger.

when ajax didnt move, a look of shock and guilt quickly spread across his face. his long, silky black hair tickled ajax's neck as the figure leaned over his body, thoroughly convinced that he had killed the boy.

"n..no...what have i done...?" he whispered in a shakey, devastated voice. "i-i just...killed another innocent soul..."

suddenly, ajax stiffened and jumped up, now mortified. "a-another?!" he yelled, falling onto his back and trying to scurry away.

the figure blinked, his large, indigo eyes shining just a little.

"w-wait! no, t-thats not..." he stumbled over his words, stuttering and trying to reach for the young boy.

"i-im telling mama!!!" the redhead suddenly yelled, in an attempt to scare the other away.

he just continued to look at him with his glossy eyes. "m...mama..?" he questioned, tilting his head. "...i had a mama too, but she left me to fend for myself when i was a few days old."

ajax didnt listen, scrambling up and starting to run away.

"...oh.."

ajax ran right into a tree, his attempt to flee obviously resulting in a failure. the figure winced, before getting up and checking on the kid.

ajax woke up with his head spinning. it was still dark, everything blurry.

"...ah, you're awake now," a voice says, startling ajax.

"w-whuh??!! y-you're that!! that..! that killing thing!" the boy yelled, squirming and backing up against the wall.

"w-wait..! stop, err...im...you can call me kabukimono...?"
