*Mandy's POV*

That afternoon, after avoiding Adelie all day at school, I walked out the school doors.

"Hey, Mandy!" James said, running to my side. "What's wrong?"

"It's nothing, don't worry, dude."

"Mandy." He said with a tone that sounded like my mom.

"I got in a fight with Adelie, okay?"

"Oh...well talk to me about it tomorrow; I have to go." He said and skipped away in a jolly manner. I started walking to my house.

A few blocks away from the school, my phone buzzed in my pocket. I pulled it out and kept walking slowly. I heard a loud squeal, a big screech, and my own scream. Pain filled my whole left side and I felt the cold road on my skin. Everything faded to black from there.

*Kellin's POV*

I was still staring at the ceiling, as I had been ever since Vic left. Mind blown. I'd replayed that series of moments in my head all night. There was no way I liked him back...well, maybe...NO. I'm a perfectly straight dude...right? I picked up my phone.

~~~~~
*Vic's POV*
My phone rang next to me on the bed, interrupting my dreams of Kellin being absolutely perfect in an array of old memories. I looked at my phone. Oh, yay! It was Kellin. I always love talking to him. I answered without delay.
"Hey!" I said happily.
"Hey, man...um...about last night..." Last night? Oh shit. Last night. I remembered what I did last night. I, Victor Vincent Fuentes, kissed Kellin Quinn...fuck.
"Uhhhh, what about last night?" I asked innocently, hoping that it was a dream.
"Do you remember?" He asked, sounding slightly worried.
"No...I don't. Refresh my memory." I said, even though it sounded like a question.
"Y-you kissed me last night." Kellin said nervously.
"Oh, uh, yeah...I did, didn't I? Sorry about that."
"Don't be sorry...did...did you feel it?" He asked worriedly with a hint of hidden hope.
"Uh," I cleared my throat. "the-well...yeah. There was a...I don't know what to call it."
"Spark..." Kellin mumbled barely audible into the phone, but I understood clearly.
"Yeah...but you have Adelie, so...um..yeah. I have some things to do."
"Oh, okay. Bye, Vic."
"Bye, Kel." I said awkwardly. I hung up and called my girlfriend, Laura.
"Hey, Vic!" She said happily.
"H-hey Laura." I said nervously.
"Is something wrong?" She asked with worry.
"Nah, I'm okay...I miss you." I lied. I was actually glad to be away from her.
"Oh, well I miss you too."
"How are you?"
"I'm not great, but talking to you is helping me feel better."
"Sorry...what's wrong?"
"Don't worry, babe." She said, reassuringly.
"M'kay."
"I'm at work, so I'll call you back later, okay?"
"Sure. Bye."
"I love you...bye, Vic." She said finally. I hung up and threw my phone back onto the bed, where it was before I got woken up by Kellin's call.
*Adelie's POV*
I got home and got out of my friend Derek's car.
"Thanks for the ride." I said, smiling.
"Anytime, A."
"Okay, well I'll see you tomorrow."
"Bye!" He shouted after me as I walked up the driveway and onto the little sidewalk that led to my porch. I unlocked the door and walked in.
"Hey, mom." I said without looking at her. I ran up the stairs and changed into lounging clothes.
I went back downstairs and sat by my mom on the couch.
"Addie...I need to talk to you."
"What about, mom?"
"Well...I know you don't like me answering your phone, and I'm sorry that I did, but I recognized the number...it was the hospital." She said with a concerned look.
"I don't have anything wrong with me. Why would the hospital call?"
"It's not about you."
"Who?"
"Mandy..."
"Well what about her?"
"Um...today, when she was walking home from school, she wasn't paying attention and got hit by a car...she may not make it."
"Oh...how bad is it?"
"Well, the car was going pretty fast so she went a good 10 feet...she's in a coma."
"Uh...um...I..." I didn't really have a reply. I grabbed the keys, ran outside, and drove to the hospital.
I didn't even care that I had been mad at her. I was now mad at myself. Fuck. I wondered what she was experiencing right now...was it just pain? Was it like sleeping? I totally hated this whole world...Kellin would make me feel better...I wonder if he's mad at me.
I pulled into the parking lot of the hospital, tears still dashing down my cheeks. I didn't even care if Kellin was mad. Anything to feel better...right?
I grabbed my phone and called Kellin. I counted each ring until he answered.
"Hi." He said quietly.
"U-Um...Kellin?"
"Yeah?"
"I'm sorry..."
"It's okay...are you alright? You don't sound so well."
"No, I'm actually not 'alright'. Mandy's kind of in a situation...a fatal one..."
"How so?"
"Well...um...she apparently wasn't paying attention when she was walking and got hit by a car."
"Seriously?"
"Dead serious..."
"Do you want me to come over? I know it's hard to deal with..."
"Yeah...would you?"
"Of course."
I got inside and told the man at the counter who I was here to visit. He led me to her room. I gasped and more tears filled my eyes...it was like she was born purple...with small parts pale. She didn't even look alive.
Okay, sorry for another short chapter...but Laura is another fiction character...y'know, to keep the story moving. My friend wanted to be in it, so yeah. Enjoy, toxic ducklings.
