We sit there as JJ describes his and John Bs visit with Scooter Grubs wife, the guys from the boat yesterday were there, tried to kill her. I have a feeling that this shit goes a lot deeper than that boat in the ocean.

"What did they look like?" Pope says.

JJ pauses for a second. "Burly."

"Burly?" Pope questions.

"Yeah. Like the type of guy at my dad's garage." JJ says.

"He looks like... a drug dealer?" I ask.

"Yes... no. They were burly alright? I don't know." JJ mutters. "I can tell you with full confidence, these guys are square groupers." JJ says, taking a puff of weed. "I can tell you, they aren't good news."

"And why would they want John Bs compass?" Kei asks.

"The office. My dad's office." John B says and starts walking down the hall to his dad's office.

"And how exactly is that supposed to help us?" I ask.

"There's info in there. A lot of it." John B says.

"I've slept here like 600 times and I've never seen this door open." Pope says.

"I thought it was a spare bedroom." I add.

John B pulls out a board that has all the owners of the compass.

"Great great great great grandpa, shot dead after he bought it." John B explains. "Henry, the next owner. Was killed in an accident. Next owner, ran over. And then my dad..." John B says.
