Author's pov :-
Akshat paced in his living room, his mind racing with concern. He dialed Aranya's number for the tenth time, but it went straight to voicemail.
"Where is she?" he muttered to himself.
Ananya walked into the room, noticing her brother's unease. "Akshat bhai, what's wrong?"
"Aranya," he replied, frustration etched on his face. "She didn't go to college today, and she's not answering her phone. I've tried calling her all morning."
Ananya's brow furrowed. "Maybe she's just busy or forgot her phone?"
Akshat shook his head. "No, something's off. I have a bad feeling."
Just then, Akshat's gaze fell upon a photo of him and Aranya. His expression softened, and worry deepened.
"Aranya, where are you?" he whispered, his eyes scanning the image.
Unbeknownst to Akshat, Aranya was just a few miles away, in her basement, leading an intense training session with her elite fighters.
"Focus!" she shouted, her voice echoing off the walls. "Your target is the enemy's weak point. Strike with precision!"
The trainees responded with renewed intensity, their movements fluid and calculated. Aranya's eyes scanned the room, ensuring her team was mission-ready.
Aranya's phone buzzed, Akshat's name flashing on the screen. She hesitated, then answered.
"Hey," Akshat's relieved voice filled the line. "Where are you? I've been trying to reach you all day."
Aranya's eyes darted around the warehouse, ensuring no one was listening. "I'm... studying with friends. Got caught up."
"I need to see you," Akshat said, his tone laced with concern. "Send me your address, I'll pick you up."
Aranya's mind raced. She couldn't let him discover her secret.
"I'm actually near downtown," she improvised. "Meet me at 'The Cozy Cup' cafe. I need a break."
"The Cozy Cup"? Akshat repeated, mental maps guiding him. "Okay, I'll be there in 20."
"See you soon," Aranya said, trying to sound casual.
As they hung up, Aranya let out a calming breath. She quickly texted her team:
"Wrap up training. I'll handle the rest."
Raj nodded, dispersing the fighters.
Aranya made her way to "The Cozy Cup," her thoughts racing:
How would she keep Akshat from discovering her true identity?
And what would happen when he found out?
The cafe's warm glow welcomed her, a temporary refuge from the secrets she kept hidden.
Akshat arrived, his eyes scanning the bustling cafe until they locked onto Aranya.
Relief washed over him as he approached, enveloping her in a gentle hug.
"Sorry I worried you," Aranya whispered.
"I was frantic," Akshat replied, his voice tinged with emotion.
As they held each other, Aranya's secrets loomed, threatening to shatter the fragile balance of their relationship.
