The house was silent all except for the clicking of Lilac's sad keyboard. She was interested in this odd phenomenon of the photo altercations. The internet had to have had the answers, right? It always does. When her efforts to find information came up empty, she had to find another way, however before she could do anything, she heard a knock at the front door. She walked into the living room and up to the front door, reached for the handle, and opened it. Standing at the other side of the door was none other than the sad, depressed teen that was meant to babysit her. He waved at her and smiled before walking in and sitting on the couch. Lilac was a bit confused as she was expecting her parents to reach a streak of staying home for more than 2 days straight. However, their record of days in a row without calling in a babysitter was only 3 days. The teen, named Tyler, stared at Lilac as if he was expecting her to do something a small child would do. Lilac stared back with the same blank expression of hers before she started speaking, "I'm not a small child, you don't need to watch so closely." Tyler, upon hearing this, shrugged and went back onto his phone like usual. Lilac could tell he's just there for the cash he earned for babysitting, plus he understood that Lilac was extremely independent and that he didn't need to really watch her. Lilac returned to her room and contemplated for a moment before deciding that she wanted to go outside again. She couldn't stop thinking about the phenomenon from earlier, and the research she was doing was getting her nowhere. She grabbed her stuff and sprinted out of the house before Tyler could do anything. Since it was about sundown, Tyler was supposed to keep her from going out, but he failed. "HEY, KID, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" He yelled out, but Lilac was already halfway down the street. Tyler shrank back and put his palm on the back of his neck, "Oh my god...... they're going to kill me." Lilac couldn't be stopped, she was running full speed toward that mystical flower field, the sun slowly setting and the sky turning brilliant shades of orange and pink. Upon arriving at the field, she saw the crystal petals of these flowers reflected the beautiful colors of the sky, and it gave all the flowers a glorious rainbow shimmer. It was incredible at this time of day, and it made her sad at how she can never get to see it because of her parents previously set curfew. She watched as the rainbow colors disappeared when the sun disappeared under the horizon. When the sky darkened, she noticed the neon glowing veins of the flowers more than before, it looked like a flood of the liquid found in glow sticks. She approached the flowers and observed the veins closely. She concluded that it could be a special sort of bioluminescence. She touched around one of the flowers to observe it closer, prodding at it, moving other flowers out of the way to see its base. She kept looking closely at it and observing its anatomy. Searching and looking in between the spaces, feeling the odd texture of the stem, looking at the leaves texture, feeling the cold and hard glass-like petals. Suddenly, one swift movement, and the flower was no longer anchored in the ground, it was within her hands. She stared in shock, she didn't even realize she had done that until she returned to reality. Suddenly, the glow of the veins vanished, almost as if her skin had absorbed it. With this, she immediately knew that there was even more to discover with these flowers. She held the flower in her hands for a while, unmoving, before deciding to go back home.
