Shivaay gently guided Anika to sit on the edge of the bed.Kneeling before her, a soft smile played on his lips as he slowly lifted the hem of her pants, revealing her ankle.
As his fingers brushed against her bare skin while fastening the anklet, a shiver coursed through Anika, sending a flutter of excitement through her heart. Butterflies danced in her stomach as he murmured, “Beautiful,” his gaze locked onto hers,there was something different, the moment felt magical
Anika's breath hitched as their eyes met“Shivaay,” she whispered, her voice barely audible as he inched closer, the space between them decreased
Shivaay gently held Anika’s face in his hands, his thumbs caressing her cheeks. “Anika, I want to give our relationship a chance,” he said, their foreheads touching,as she realised what he was saying, tears of joy rolled down Anika's cheeks, catching Shivaay off guard. Panic flashed in his eyes. “It’s okay if you’re not comfortable—”
Before he could finish, Anika placed a finger softly against his lips, silencing him. “Shh, Shivaay. These are tears of happiness, and I’m truly happy,” she replied
A wave of relief washed over him, and a warm smile broke across his face.He gently kissed the finger resting against his lips, making her blush.She could see the sincerity in his eyes, and a smile crept onto her lips, brightening the moment.
He pulled back slightly “You’ve brought a light into my life that I didn’t know was missing.”
Anika felt herself blushing under his gaze.Shivaay reached for her hand, intertwining their fingers.
Shivaay slowly leaned in, capturing her lips, this time deeper, more passionate. Anika melted against him, responding to his kiss
Pulling back slightly, Shivaay rested his forehead against hers, breathing heavily
“Anika.I’ve never felt this way about anyone before.You’ve opened my heart in ways I never thought I could allow anyone to. I want to explore this with you.”he whispered
Anika rested her head against Shivaay's chest. She took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts before speaking. “Shivaay, I want to resign from my job.”
His brow furrowed in surprise. “Resign.But why”
“I want to give my whole time to my family,” she said, lifting her head to look into his eyes. “Ansh needs me now more than ever, especially after everything that’s happened. And I know you’ve been skipping work since the incident, too.”
“Anika, you’ve always talked about wanting to be independent. Are you sure about this”Shivaay asked
“I know, Shivaay. But I also dreamed of having a happy family.Growing up, I didn’t have the love and support I craved. Now that I have the chance to give that to Ansh, I want to be there for him every day.”she replied
He felt a pang in his chest at her words. “But what about your aspirations. Your career. I don’t want you to give up everything for this.”
Anika smiled softly“I don’t see it as giving up. I see it as prioritizing what matters most right now. I still want to pursue my passions, but being a mother feels like my most important job until Ansh recovers fully.And who says I’m leaving my job forever.I’m just taking a break from all this. I see it as prioritizing what matters most right now.”
“Okay, if that’s what you really want, then I support you. But promise me you won’t completely set aside your dreams. You deserve to have both.”
